Chapter 13-An invisible rabbit is always the way forward!

Saying I don’t like mornings, would be an understatement for this morning. The whole weekend I had to lay off the hangover. It was the most painful experience; I’ve never drunk, let alone had a hangover. Why do people drink? It’s crazy.

“I’m never drinking again!” I screeched at Jas as I sat at the breakfast table.

“That’s what everyone says” She laughed, did she seriously think this was funny?

“I won’t” I gave her my most serious face.

“Yeah, whatever” She laughed grabbing my pop tart and running outside.

I followed her out; she’d already got the front seat. So I was in the back. I quickly greeted Brad, who seemed a little on edge.

“Oh my head” I murmured in the back, keeping my face away from the sun. I wanted depressing weather; like my mood.

“Do you remember anything of that night?” Jas chuckled from the front seat; I saw Brad’s posture stiffen at the comment.

“Nope” I closed my eyes but I could sense Brad still hadn’t relaxed. The rest of the journey was spent in an awkward silence.

“Well cheers for the ride and the conversation” I said the last bit quietly; neither of them spared me a glance.

As I walked to class, everyone’s mutters seemed like shouts, I just wanted to crawl back into bed.

I ran into maths, quickly ducking from everyone’s view. Which concluded in under the desk, so peaceful, Steven was kicking me but I chose to ignore him.

“Well class, what a lovely day it is” My teacher shrieked. I could feel myself dozing off.

“Miss Turner!” I opened my eyes, to see my teacher staring down at me.

“You have three seconds to tell me what you’re doing” She crossed her arm, dang! Quick thinking. Quick thinking!

“I was uh…looking for Steven’s rabbit?” Quick thinking, not stupid thinking, damns you Lauren.

“I think we’ve found the rabbit now get up” Everyone began to laugh, don’t make yourself look stupid.

“Nope, it could be…” I continued to search the floor.

“It could be what Miss Turner” the teacher’s voice was becoming tiresome.

“It could be…wearing an invisibility cloak?” If the class weren’t laughing, they were now in stitches. Tears streamed down Stevens face.

“MISS TURNER! OUTSIDE NOW!” The teachers face was red in anger. Don’t ask why. But I felt the need to crawl outside…like I said, don’t ask!

The halls are eerily quiet, I could see miss calming down a little from inside the classroom. I’d never been sent out but then I’d never chosen to chill out under the desk.

“Lauren, have we sorted our ‘rabbit’ situation out?” She rose her eyebrow, un-amused.

“Yes ma’am…they’ll be no rabbit droppings anytime soon!” I laughed, was this woman’s heart made of stone…come on it was funny, corny but funny!

“Just stay quiet and no other distractions Lauren” She wasn’t in the mood to argue but hey, it’s Monday, neither was I.

“Yes ma’am” I saluted her, going back to my seat.

Steven had just recovered by the time I got back.

“I found my rabbit, thanks” He laughed, nudging me, a smile crept onto my face.
