chapter 6 new way's

Ayr'ite pov

I had woken up bright and early for are training to day we would be taught be the reef kids there ways as soon at I woke up I had put a new white bead on my song cord to show my new life as a true navi I hurd some movement and looked over to see that neteyam was awake he had a big smile on his face when he saw me.

"What are you doing up so urly," he asked rubbing his eye's.

"Oh just putting a new bead onto my song cord," I say just now finishing it off by putting it onto my loin cloth.

"So are you excited for today," he says now sitting up.

"I guess I'm still a little bit worried from what happened the last time I went into the water," I say sadness in my voice.

Neteyam puts his hand on to my face and looks into my eyes as he says "don't worry I will be there every step of the way,".

My heart melts hearing this he's so sweet.

After everyone wakes up we get ready to start I training first the reef kids jump in followed by lo'ak,neteyam who jump in crazily.

And then kiri and tuk.

I jump in last try not to let the fear of what happened last time not take over as I jump I can see neteyam look for me is eyes in concern until they land on me we tried to catch up to them but they were to fast and we needed air so we swam to the top of the surface.

Once we did we took a big breath before we put are heads back under to see tsireya waveing her arms around like she was saying something but we did not understand she then just moved he hand to sign for us to follow her.

As we took another deep breath before going under wich was short lived since we then had to go back up for more air.

We all to a big breath of air once we got to the top.

The reef kids follow us to the top.
"Your to fast wait for us," tuk says wiping her eye that now has water in it.

"You guys are not good diver maybe good a swimming through trees but," Aonung was cut of by tsireya hitting him on the head.

"Hey we dong understand this finger talk we don't know what your saying," neteyam says wiggling his fingers.

"I will teach you," tsireya say looking at us.

"Where is kiri," I saw relishing she isn't with us.

"Kiri where is kiri" rotxo asked looking around.

"Who" Aonung replied confused.

We still had not found kiri but we where sure that she is fine since if someone was wrong she would of called us now we are in the shallow bit of the water for are next bit of training.

Aonung makes a clicking sound as these animals start to swim up to us.

"Thes are ilu if you want to live here you have to ride," Aonung says.

"Make the bonded gently one you do they will listen to you," tsireya says to lo'ak as he is on his ilu.
"Feel his strength feel his breath hold here," she hold the stop that lo'ak has to hold.

"Hold on," Aonung says just as lo'ak starts riding.

It went well at first until he then fell of.

As we all couldn't help but laugh at this.

It was now my turn and scared was not even one way to describe how I was feeling no I was petrified it was my very first time having a queue let alone connecting something to it even worse that everyone was watching me so if I mess up it would be terrible.

Once I made the bond I could feel her breath and her strength it felt verry weird definitely a felling I would not forget.

One I dove into the water everything was so smooth as a stared at the sea in aer as I saw fishes of different colours and the water was so colourful after a while I decided that I should probably go back as I directed my ilu to ride back I was met with verry proud faces.

I was shocked I didn't think I would do that well especially on my first try.

I rode up to everyone and got off my ilu disconnecting the bond.

"So how was that," I asked with a smile.

"That's was amazing I have never seen someone learn how to ride an ilu that fast even though you are not from here I am verry proud of you Ayr'ite," tsireya says while hugging Me.

I was verry proud of my self to another bead to add to my song cord I thought.

Are next bit of training was learing how to hold are breath since we aren't good at it just as we sat down on the rock kiri came over and sat down with us none of us question it since we know she has a tendency to wonder off.

"Breath in and breath out you need to slow down your heart beat," tsireya says as she puts her hands on lo'ak stomach.

"Your heart beat is verry fast," she says looking at lo'ak.

"Sorry," he says breathing out.

As me and neteyam share a look of knowing that he likes her.

After this we go home have dinner as everyone falls asleep while I put a new bead onto my song cord ending the day just as I started it.
