"This one's for real," I breathe out. Closing my eyes as the nerves start to settle in.
"Forever," Lia whispers, giving me a soft kiss on my cheek. "This one's forever," I repeat, opening my eyes to rest my head on Lia's shoulder.
"You look so pretty my love," Val smiles, her eyes brimming with joy as she looks at me.
I blush as I turn to the mirror before us, admiring my dress. Is it over the top? Yes. But that's what makes it so good.
Her dress:
"My pretty girl," Mama whispers, tears in her eyes as she watches us from where she's sitting. "You look beautiful too Mama," I smile, not wanting to start crying and ruin my makeup.
"We should be going now ma cheríe," Mama says softly, "Everyone's expecting you,"
I nod and quickly check my reflection, ensuring nothings off my me and Luca's big day. "We'll see you out there," Lia smiles, giving me a kiss before Val does the same and they walk out of the room.
Mama comes up behind me and organises the train of my dress, ensuring it's not crumpled before she picks up my flowers and hands them to me, putting her arm out for me. I loop my arm through hers and we walk out of the room and towards the garden.
The walk is quiet, a comfortable silence settling between us as we make our way to the large doors which open up to the garden and the guests.
"I'm so nervous Mama," I whisper, my body freezing at the door, memories from the two prior marriages flooding my mind. Memories of my wedding with Anton; our wedding night, and every other cruel day after that.
"Don't be nervous Adelyn, this one's real," Mama smiles at me, "This time he loves you,"
I nod, closing my eyes as I let a deep breath out. Mama places a soft kiss on my temple and I open my eyes, signalling to the guards to
open the doors.I'm met with rows upon rows of people suddenly looking at me, each person standing up as Mama and I stand at the open doors, looking down the aisle. My eyes fall to a pair of dark green ones at the end of the aisle, and suddenly I feel all the butterflies in my stomach fly away.
