I groan as I sit up in bed, my head pounding as I see Luca still asleep beside me. I close my eyes as my head feels like it's being squeezed by a fucking gorilla and I lie back down, curling up in a ball to stop my hurting head.
"What's wrong baby?" Luca suddenly asks, his voice raspy as he uses an arm to drag me closer to him. "My head hurts," I whine, not opening my eyes as the alcohol from last night takes its toll. "I'll go get some panadol for you from the kitchen, it'll help with your headache," he says gently, kissing my forehead as he gets out of bed.
I wrap the duvet cover tighter around me but I soon hear Lucas footsteps coming back to our bedroom. "Adelyn, you have to see this," he whispers, I look up at him and see his eyes swimming with amusement so I reluctantly get out of bed to follow him.
I can't contain the gasp which leaves my lips as I see Lia and Carlos cuddled together in Carlos' bed, Lia fully submerged under Carlos' arms. I take Lucas phone out of his pocket and take a million photos, obviously sending them all to myself. I giggle and lean again Luca, "They're so in love," I sigh, looking the two sleeping people in front of me. Luca simply hums and wraps an arm around me, leaning down to kiss me.
We both freeze when Carlos stirs, slightly stretching out but soon regaining his position of hugging Lia to his body, Lia slightly moves at this and her eyes flutter open. She freezes when she sees us and Carlos senses this movement, "What's wrong my Fia?" he rasps, trying to pull her back down. My stupid cousin doesn't answer but roughly shoves Carlos off the bed.
"What the fuck?" he groans, sitting up and rubbing his side. He rolls his eyes and glares at me and Luca when he sees us, "Assholes," he mutters, standing up and sitting back on his bed. "I need a hangover cheeseburger," he grumbles, standing up and rubbing his head, "McDonalds for breakfast then," Lia sighs, getting out of the bed and untangling her hair.
We all sluggishly get into Luca's car, who's not even hungover due to the very little alcohol he drank last night. I'm jealous.
The mood is severely dampened by the very obvious elephant in the room, which is Lia and Carlos, and everyone's tired and grumpy. I look over the four of us and can't help but laugh, we're all in sweats and have dark rings circling our eyes, the boys' hair both look like birds nests and Lia and I's mascara is slightly smudged.
"What's so funny?" Carlos asks me, raising an eyebrow, "Us," I chuckle, shaking my head. "How so?" he asks again, obviously not in his usual mood for jokes. "We all look so homeless and depressed," I laugh, and Lia smiles at my feeble joke. "Still the hottest homeless, depressed people you'll ever find," Carlos smirks, and Luca rolls his eyes at his best friends antics.
We pull up in the McDonalds carpark and trail out of the car, making our way inside the well lit up restaurant. To my surprise there are only a few peoples inside, quieter than I've ever seen before.
That's strange.
I shrug it off and Lia and I sit in a booth whilst Carlos and Luca order and pay for us. She slides in next to me and puts her head on her arms. "Before you ask, no we didn't have sex," she says, her voice exhausted as she sighs into her crossed arms. "Oh," I say, not really sure how to reply to that, "Wait that means I get a hundred dollars," I grin happily. "Huh?" she asks, opening an eye to look at me. "Me and Luca had a bet," I explain and she rolls her eye before closing it again.
"You ok Lia?" I ask gently, becoming increasingly concerned for my cousin. She nods slowly, "Just tired," she says quietly. I don't believe her for a heartbeat but decide not to push as the boys come back holding our tray.
Like a pack of starving animals we all quite literally attack the tray and grab whatever we can get our hands on from assortment of food lying on the tray. Carlos leans back in his booth as he happily munches on his double cheeseburger, occasionally stopping to take a sip of his iced coffee. "Mcdonalds has never tastes so fucking good," he says, his voice muffled as his mouth is full of food, "I can now die a happy man," he exclaims, taking a long sip of his coffee.
