Chapter- 22 Fae's Night

Fae's sneakers crunched against the gravel of their garden as she trudged toward the traditional Japanese compound she swore she'd never willingly return to. On the back porch was the man she feared more than any other as well as four of his yakuza thugs plus a drop-dead gorgeous woman.

Fae looked at the man who had practically raised her and gave him a small smile. "Hi, Kai."

The socially stunted asshole didn't pick up on her uncharacteristically depressed greeting, but the woman standing right behind him certainly did. Her all-seeing huntress eyes narrowed dangerously as she watched Chisaki walk forward and run his mechanical hand across Fae's soft cheek.

"It's been too long since you've come home, darling."

"I know. I'm sorry, but I'm back now," Fae murmured defeatedly.

"Fret not. Come along, are you hungry?"

"Not really."

Chisaki's yellow eyes hardened, and Fae knew not to argue as he said, "well let's get you something to eat, hmm? You need to keep up your strength."

My strength. Pfft. Fae barely concealed her eye roll. Chisaki didn't give a shift about my strength. As long as I can produce Profit, he'd happily let me wither away and starve.

She surrendered to her pathetic fate and let Chisaki slide his hand down her back and guide her inside. "Yeah okay."

The woman who had been behind Chisaki clacked her tongue haughtily, and Chisaki looked over at her with an unamused expression. "Something wrong, my dear?"

Fae too stared at the unhappy woman who stared down her pierced nose at her. Knowing that in this setting her rank was higher than her own, Fae bowed her head and said, "Good evening Elise."

Elise Awase didn't so much as spare Fae another look much less a reply. She leveled Chisaki with a frown and sneered, "Are you serious right now?"

Chisaki's blinked at her harsh tone. "Pardon?" he clarified dangerously, but if there was one person in this world that would go toe-toe with the incredibly deadly villain,

It was his wife.

Elise's diamond wedding ring caught the moonlight and glimmered as she tossed her midnight black hair over her tattooed shoulder with a huff. "I said, are you serious right now?"

"About what?"

"About her." She pointed a blood-red nail threatening in Fae's face, and the blonde went cross-eyed looking at the perfectly manicured claw.

"What about her?"

"You're going to choose to go fawn over her instead of taking me out on our date night?" Elise crossed her arms across her chest, and her perky pierced nipples pressed against the tight blood-red material showing them all one of her mouth-watering naughty piercings. "I got all dressed up for you Kai."

Chisaki's eyes bounced from his wife's chest to her eyes a few times. When he didn't immediately jump her bones, Elise upped the ante by turning on her sky-high red bottoms and marching off. Her waist-length pitch-black hair swished around her naked back that was showing off her massive gorgeous tattoo. "Fine. I'm taking someone else to our reservation."

"Dear, wait. We can just reschedule-"

She clacked her tongue angrily once more and spat over her tattooed shoulder, "No. I'm going tonight. Hell, maybe I'll even do to my new date what I was planning on doing to you."
