As days flew by, everything was the same for Minho.
He wakes up, takes his pills and starts the new day with a deep numbness that doesn't flatter away.
This day was no exception, he started walking to university, this time not forgetting his headphones, and let his brain soothe by the sweet melody of the music ringing in his ears, letting the peace ambiance engulf him as in a warm hug.
As he arrived at the college grounds, he walked to his friends to greet them before joining his classes. This day, the squirrel energetic boy was there, still way too energetic for a Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
"Ilino" Changbin called happily
"Hi" Minho responded simply
"After class you're coming to the cafe" Chan stated, not letting Minho have a word in that.
"What if I cannot?" Minho asked, frowning jokingly
"Do you even have better things to do?" Chan asked with a rose eyebrow
"You got me there" Minho answered, making a small giggle come out of Jisung
"Can I join?" Jisung asked
"Who even are you?" Minho asked, a sarcastic tone lacing his voice
"Hey!" Jisung faked offendedness, chuckling slightly
"Just joking" Minho clarified, seeing how Jisung nodded, showing him that he didn't mind because he knew he was joking.
Jisung thought that Minho had a strange humor, but seemed really funny. He wanted to be his friend.
"Yo" Hyunjin said as he arrived beside Jisung, putting his arm on Jisung's shoulders
"Yo man" Jisung answered in the same vibe, looking as hiphop as he could.
"Oh Minho" Hyunjin said, surprised to see the guy with one of his best friends
"Hyunjin" Minho answered in seriousness
"You know that old man?" Jisung asked, pointing at Minho who glared at him for the insult
"We share classes" Hyunjin stated
"Oh, you're a dancer?" Jisung asked Minho, who just nodded slightly
"Is that man even good in dance classes?" Changbin said, knowing the answer but wanting to taunt Minho.
"Not more than I am, but he's good" Hyunjin joked as Minho approached him menacingly. Hyunjin faked fear as he hid behind Jisung "I'M JOKING I'M JOKING" He yelled, scared.
"I'm frying you Hyunjin" Minho said, still serious, as he went back to his spot, letting Hyunjin stop hiding.
Jisung chuckled at the dynamic between the two boys.
"Anyways, we should get to class" Changbin stated, as they all separated, Hyunjin and Minho walking together.
"I didn't know you knew Jisung" Hyunjin said as he walked to class with Minho
"I don't know him" Minho answered, truthfully
"You have to get to know him" Hyunjin said excitedly
"Why?" Minho asked, confused as to why he would say something like that
"I don't know, I just feel like you always look a bit bored, and he is really entertaining" Hyunjin explained as he flashed him a bright smile, Minho wondering if he could smile like that one day. "Also I feel like you too would get along well" Hyunjin added.
"Mmh" Minho hummed in uninterest, even though he was slightly curious about Jisung.
Minho had been through his day in deep annoyment. Again, he just had theory classes, the story of dance being told through many perspectives, and none of them seemed interesting in Minho's opinion. He sighed as he started to walk in the corridors.
He saw his friends at the door, and he started hiding, not wanting to actually go to the cafe. As he thought he was slick enough, he was surprised to see Chan grabbing him by his collar.
"Where are you going you sly cat" Chan said in between chuckled, finding it endearing.
"Escaping" Minho simply said, pouting because of the fact that he got caught.
"You're going nowhere" Changbin said as he grabbed him by the arm, forcing him to walk to the cafe with them. Minho was sulking, walking painfully slowly to annoy them, as he kept getting nagged by Chan, making the sweet sound of Jisung's laugh echo in his ears.
They got iced americanos as they sat down, the four of them talking lightly about their classes.
"Hey, I'm just twenty!" Jisung said as Changbin was calling him old
"Twenty?" Minho asked, actually surprised.
"Yep" Jisung smiled proudly
"Aren't you in Chan's class?"
"I am" Jisung smirked
"The boy is a lyrical genius" Changbin said
"He got advanced classes" Chan added, while Minho nodded
"What can I say, I live for music" Jisung said, as he striked a stupid philosophical pose.
"Boring" Minho added, a ghost of a smile on his face
"No but it's true! I just love it so much. Working in production isn't even a task" Jisung explained as his eyes started glittering.
Minho watched him as he started talking about his passion, seeing how cute he looked for expressing the things he loved so much. But it made his stomach churn a bit.
Is it what it's supposed to look like when you love something? Are your eyes supposed to shine this much? Minho was asking himself tons of questions, wondering why he didn't feel as much about dancing.
He liked dancing, but it gave him so much boredom that he started questioning himself. He wanted to be as excited as the boy in front of him about his own passion, but he couldn't. Minho was empty, and the sight made him feel even more numb. His face suddenly changed, a small frown appearing and he stopped listening to the conversation.
He finished his americano in one go and stood up.
"I'll go" He simply said, as he left the cafe, not even trying to wait for the others to say goodbye to him.
Jisung stared at him, stranged out by his behavior. He had a sudden turn in his mood, and he was scared he said something that hurt the boy.
"Is he okay?" Jisung asked as he watched Minho leave the cafe.
"We never know" Chan said, suddenly a bit serious as he scratched the back of his head.
"What do you mean?" Jisung asked, a bit scared "Did I say something that I shouldn't have?"
"This is his behavior. He has always been like that. He may look a bit cold and uninterested but trust me, he listened to every bit of the things you said" Changbin assured, Jisung feeling already less tense.
"He seems a bit out of it" Jisung said, as the two friends shared a knowing glance.
"That's what we have been investigating in" Chan said with a sigh
"But he's too hard to read" Changbin added.
"And even harder to talk to" Chan said, knowing from experience that Minho would just avoid any kind of conversation regarding his situation.
Jisung saw how his two friend's eyes flicked with worry, a whole different sight of them. They were never like that around Minho, as if they were trying to hide their worries to not scare him away. He smiled unconsciously, happy to see the boy had such great friends around him.
"Don't worry guys, he will be okay!" Jisung said, smiling softly at them, who smiled back at him. Jisung was too sweet for his own good.
But he was deep down really curious about Minho. He made it his own little mission to try and make a smile merge on that stone face.
