William felt the angel behind him knead his shoulders, smiling affectionately.

"You should be thanking me for saving you." He laughed, kissing the little demon on the forehead.

"I didn't need your help, that bow of yours sucked anyway." William scowled, escaping his grip.

Vincent scoffed, "My bow and arrow saved your life didn't it?" He smiled, putting his hands behind his back to adjust the bow.

William looked down thoughtfully. "The person controlling the bow did." He said blandly, running across the black lifeless field.

"We should get a move on, this thing is spreading fast." He looked back around, seeing the plague spread across the green field, making them black in an instant as the plants fell lifeless.

William sighed and ran into the green area, looking up into the sky.

"Do you think this plague has something to do with it raining all the time?" The short demon asked, staring into the gray horizon.

Vincent gave a swift nod of his head, speeding up his walking. William felt the rain soak his hair and clothes, an annoyance burning in his chest.

They walked across the green valley, grass was soaking wet from the rain but soon turned dry and dead as soon as the black plague touched it.

William groaned and wiped the rain from his eyes, he felt hope rise in his chest as he saw something red in the distance.

"Hey, we still are in heaven right?" William asked, confused.

Vincent became confused also, "Well yes, we are at the thirty-first level, we still have many ways to go till the border, why do you ask?"

"Look in the distance, it's something I saw in the human world before," Afton replied, walking closer and closer to the enormous red object in the distance.

They approached it staring up, fencing was all around the structure with weird white objects in the fencing area.

"It's a barn." Vincent said uneasily, "What would that be doing here?"

"I don't know, let's go inside." William scoffed as he jumped over the fence.

"Do we really have time?" Vincent flinched, hesitating.

William looked back, rattling the barn's doors.

"Well it's not like this opens anyway, and yeah, this rush of plague is light gray, the dangerous rush is black, but the black rush only moves like an inch every hour, we'll be fine. The black rush is thirty levels higher anyway." William smirked, banging on the barn hoping to make it open somehow.

We can take a risk.. we need to rest anyway. Vincent thought, easily walking over the fence as he wasn't short like Afton.

Vincent calmly focused on the barn's lock, closing his eyes and breathing in, a soothing yellow translucent blob overcoming the lock before it clicked open softly. William rolled his eyes and was about to open the doors.

Vincent yanked his collar and pulled him close. "Hey, put me down angel boy!" William scowled, squirming in his arms.

"Shhh! Listen.." He said without a reason why.

The demon clenched his fists and pulled himself from Vincent's grip, going right up to the barn doors before putting his ear to it.

"I don't hear shit." He growled, snapping a glare at Vincent.

The angel shook his head, "No, not there, out there." He pointed toward the forest, a yearning sound almost like a whisper coming from the woods.

William stood still and became silent, his eyes burrowing in frustration. "Well, do you want to go check it out or something?! It's probably just all this walking and slashing and starving driving us crazy!" The demon complained before sitting on the ground exhausted, feeling tension from his legs calm down.

"Yes indeed, but it doesn't sound like something we'd just imagine." He walked forward across the field, passing one tree before brushing the bushes out of the way. Heading into the deep under green.

William breathed heavily for some seconds, relaxing on the soft grass before wiping his forehead, it sure was cold in heaven, the chilly air smelt like gentle smoke mixed with a woody amber breeze from the trees and plains surrounding him.

It was calming, but William heaved himself up running after Vincent. His back ached as he ran into the bushes recklessly, thorns pricking him through his tough clothes.

Vincent was silently walking slowly, listening closely before making any sudden movements. William ran past him quickly and rowdy rolling his eyes.

The angel scowled and yanked William again, "What do you think you're doing?!" He whispered.

"It's better to just face what's out there than be a wimp and cower around like a helpless sheep." William spat, trying to squeeze away from Vincent's grasp.

"Listen, you little Satan. If we go slow and careful we have less of a chance of getting hurt or spotted by something that's out there."

William sighed, "Something that probably isn't -."

Vincent interrupted him, "Listen again! How can we be making this up? The closer we get... Don't you hear the chanting?"

William's eyes widened and he looked deep into the woods, but nothing there. But he could hear voices as Vincent dragged him slowly with him.

William escaped from the man's grip, "No, I don't care. I'm fucking tired, we've walked far enough." He scowled, suddenly changing his attitude, and headed back to the barn.

Vincent felt his body shake in frustration, his brown furrowing. "Yeah yeah.."

He ran after the demon back into the open plains. Afton had already entered the barn and waited for Vincent to enter before closing it.

"We should lock this thing in case," William replied before grabbing a lockpick he kept in his pocket.

The smaller man clicked it close and shoved the lockpick back. Looking around the barn.

"It's much warmer and cozier in here than outside, almost like a prize we found in this harsh chill weather." Vincent smiled softly, taking the things they had so far for appreciation.

William sighed and hopped up on the vast haystack, sitting as he took a deep breath and smiled. "Comfortable too.." He yawned, wrapping his tail around his legs as Vincent hopped up.

The demon laid down, feeling a hand wrap around his waist.

"Well, it's still a bit cold in here." Vincent looked away, trying to hide the noticeable red tint on his cheeks.

William raised an eyebrow and his eyes darted toward Vincent's face, "Are you suggesting we sleep on top of each other?!"

"You're such a hopeless romantic.." The angel scoffed, laying down on his side on the haystack.

"What's that mean?" William growled, turning off the lantern to invite the darkness, small moonlight coming from the small window in the barn.

"Just go to sleep.."
