William nestled his back against the mono-yellow lockers behind him, he was chatting with the brown-haired man in front of him, otherwise known as his best friend, or only friend in particular. Henry was snickering and mumbling about the new comic book convention, but William wasn't very interested in it, therefore, he focused on other things around them. Such as the chittering from other students, or what he had to do for class today. Which was apparently geometry for math, which he definitely wasn't looking forward to.
Afton gave a puff of his cheeks and rolled his head to the side, listening to the talking become even louder when a group of boys hustled through the high school's hallways. His eyes widened a bit as he recognized that familiar blonde fluffy hair, Vincent. William's annoyed frown turned into a grin ear to ear, and he hugged the other teen in front of him tightly.
"Nice to see you too, Will." He chuckled, wrapping his arms around the smaller boy's back.
William squeezed him tighter, refusing to let go. "I missed you.." He sighed, digging his face into Vince's neck.
"It's only been two hours you goofball?" Vincent smiled, ruffling William's hair before getting released from the hug.
Will shrugged and covered his face from Vincent's view, trying to hide the obvious blush that had crept onto his face when they hugged. He watched the teenager go over to Henry, now speaking about random things with the brown-haired boy.
William's amber eyes scooted to the floor, now only waiting for the bell to ring for their next class, but he was excited as well. This was the only class (Science) that he and Vincent had together, and as a bonus, they even sat together and usually chatted the whole time during it. But even during that time, Vincent would drift off into conversation with other people, Vince was certainly extroverted, and William didn't really like that. Once Vincent had stopped paying attention to him, it was a bit hard to get his attention back.
As kids, they used to play together so much and hug and cuddle, but now that they went into their teenage years, it just went away. The only thing that didn't go away was William's massive crush. For, of course, Vincent.
He always admired Vincent, because, unlike the blonde, he was quite introverted, and no one wanted to be around him as he was so aggressive; declining everyone's advantages. While Vincent handled people so well and helped William deal with crowds or fend off people he was intimidated by. William felt a warm feeling inside him when the blonde did, like he was special to Vincent.
...
Bang! Henry knocked his arm into William's locker, finally catching his attention. "Done staring at Vincent yet, you creep?" A voice suddenly interrupted, Henry's hand waving in his face.
William was about to snap at him for saying that in front of the blonde until he realized Vincent was long gone, probably heading early to his class. So, he only scoffed, slapping the older boy's hand out of the way.
"How am I a creep?" he then asked, crossing his arms while giving his friend a defiant glare.
Henry pursed his lips, "Oh I don't know, he's your brother? Weirdo."
William's eyes narrowed in vexation, "Goddamn it Henry, for the last time, we are not brothers."
"Yeah, just friends." He laughed, pulling out a cigar which probably meant he was going to skip class today.
William paid no heed to it though, Henry only said that stuff to annoy him, which worked well. But it was still a pain in his ass whenever the other teen had to bring it up for the millionth time.
"By the way, I have a theory." He jerked his elbow into William's upper arm, grinning briefly.
William's amber eyes rolled to Henry's dark brown eyes while folding his arms across his chest. "And what's that theory?"
"You probably keep his underwear."
