Jeonghan Pov

-

"oh yeah, jeonghan, i actually set you up on a date with someone." my mom told me as she was cleaning the kitchen.
"again eomma? this is like the third time that you set me up with someone!" i complained to her. first it was with a cute guy but he had a horrible personality. he only cared about himself and finding a handsome guy, which i wasn't. the second one had a great personality and was cute too but he wasn't my type. my standards are quite high, it's not surprising if i end up alone.

"i know, but i just don't want you too die alone, you know? it's time for you to have a boyfriend already!" shocking, coming from someone who didn't want me to date anyone a year ago. and i'm still twenty, i have plenty of time to find someone.
"eomma, i'm not gonna die soon. i'm still young and healthy." she came out of the kitchen, coming to sit next to me on the couch.

"it's never too early han." you litterally told me i wasn't allowed to date when i was nineteen.i guess that's what life is when you have asian parents. eomma isn't even that old since she had me when she was a teen. she was pregnant when she was sixteen and gave birth to me when she was seventeen.
"fine! can i atleast know who i'm going on a date with?" i need to know who it is, i need to prepare myself for how they're gonna act like.

"yeah, it's joshua..." did she just say joshua?
"joshua who?" it can't be that kid right?
"joshua hong" it's that weird kid from next door. thank god that he left last year but now he's back!
"the joshua hong that lived next door? the one that left a year ago?" please tell me that there's another person named joshua hong in the world.

"exactly!" she had an innocent smile on her face.
"but eomma, why him out of everyone?" there's so many people in the world, yet you chose him.
"i just felt like you'd like him. he seems like your type." i scoffed at what my mom said.
"that kid? as my type? i don't think so."

"don't make assumptions about him before you actually even go on the date. he's a nice person jeonghan, not like the other people i've set you up with." i have seen him before and let me tell you, he was the ugliest person to step the earth.
"fine...i'll wait. i'm not making any promises of liking him though." she hugged me.
"thank you. and i'm sure you'll love him." i then left, heading to the backyard. where i layed down on the hammock and stared at the clouds.

3rd Person Pov

-

"just wait and see han. you'll fall in love as soon as you see him. i should know since i'm your mother." his mom said as he imagined the two together. joshua was the perfect match for jeonghan. he'll sure fall for him, no doubt about it.

he had a feeling that joshua liked jeonghan. she heard it from his mom since they were quite close. that's the only reason as to why she planned on the two going on a date.

-

joshua was waiting at the restaurant that jeonghan was supposed to meet him at. he was kind of excited because he always had a crush on jeonghan ever since he was younger, when he first moved in the neighborhood. he knew jeonghan never liked him though since he was always bullied at school and known as weird and annoying.

when jeonghan's mom asked him to go on a date with his son, he was confuses on why he was the one getting asked, he still said yes, if he didn't, he wouldn't be here. he was scared on how the older will react once he sees him.

meanwhile, jeonghan was outside of the restaurant, preparing himself for the date. "it's okay jeonghan, you'll be fine. it will be over quickly." he went in and texted joshua.

-

Joshua

Jeonghan
i'm here at the restaurant, where are you sitting at?

Joshua
i'm on the left side, right at the middle. look for the person who has their hat on right now

-

jeonghan looked around, trying to find joshua. then he found a guy with a hat, he was the only one wearing it so he assumed it was joshua. he came closer to the table, and sat down.
"hi!" he said, kind of nervous. je never usually felt like this on a date. joshua took off his hat, revealing a handsome man with a deer like face. jeonghan found it shocking, this wasn't the joshua that he remembered.

"joshua, right?" he asked, making sure that he sat at the right table.
"yeah, and you're jeonghan?" he just nodded, still processing the fact that joshau was sitting infront of him. he looked like a completely different person.

"you look beautiful!" joshua said. he was mesmerized at jeonghan's beauty. he has become much more beautiful than he was before.
"thanks, and you look beautiful as well!" jeonghan started blushing. this date seemed different than others. it could be of the way joshua was treating him. no one complimented him before.

-

the date was over now. joshua drove jeonghan to their house since they lived right next to eachother.
"that was great shua! i hope we could do that again some other time!" he wasn't lying when he said that. he genuinely wanted to go on a date with joshua again. he felt so comfortable throughout the whole date. the younger had an aura that made him feel safe and protected.
"i had a lot fun getting to know you too! and yeah, let's do this some other time!" jeonghan got off the car.

"goodnight shua, bye!" he waved at joshua.
"goodnight hannie!" he watched as the older went inside their house. he then layed down on the seat for a little bit.
"i can't believe i just went on a date with him!" he was happy, his crush finally noticed him, and it wasn't in the weird type of way.

as for jeonghan, his mother bombarded him with questions when he came back home.
"how was it han?" his mom came running out of her room when she heard the door open. jeonghan just plopped himslef on the couch.
"i think i'm in love!" his mom grew all excited.
"yes! i knew it would work!"
