jeonghan was in his car, outside the store. he was there to get a gift for his boyfriend, joshua, since it was his birthday today, december 30. he hoped that he could get a good gift for his boyfriend but he didn't have that much money. he had a job, it payed him pretty well. but it wasn't enough for those good gifts like, phones, cars, houses, those were too expensive and out of his range.
he was different from his boyfriend. joshua had a good job, he was a ceo of popular company in many different countries, making him rich. you might be wondering why joshua is rich and jeonghan isn't.
let me tell you, it's because he wasn't rich from the start. they were a normal couple before and joshua just wanted to start a small business doing something he liked. as the years grew, the company became more popular and popular, eventually making it one of the best companies.
jeonghan was there with joshua through all of that. he encouraged him to not quit when he thought that he was doing a horrible job. he was basically the reason as to why the company was where it is now.
but jeonghan being the person he is, he never wanted to use joshua's money on him, eventhough joshua insisted. he wanted to us his hard own money for things that he wanted, not wanting to ask his boyfriend because it would seem like he was still with joshua only for the money. it wouldn't really seem like that since he was with joshua when he didn't have that much but he still didn't want to do it. that's why he's trying to buy him a gift with his own money.
he went in the store, looking around, trying to find a cute gift. "what should i get him? hmm, it needs to be something that he likes, or atleast something close to what he likes." he continued sesrching around the store, now finding himself infront of the plushies. "welp, how did i end up here?" he looked at the plushies, finding something he likes.
"this looks like it would be a good gift for joshuji!" he was looking at the two bunny plushies infront of him. joshua loved bunnies, he thought they looked cute, that's why he wanted to get one ever since he was a kid. jeonghan took a closer look at it. "yep, he would definitly love this!" he said, in a cute, excited voice.
he grabbed both of them, admiring how cute they looked as he headed to the cashier. there was a person infront of him that had about fifty items, of course that was an exaggeration but there was still a lot. he decided to go on his phone while waiting. he went through his gallery, looking through their old photos.
he wished that they were still like how they were before. joshua was always so busy at work that sometimes he didn't even go home to jeonghan. jeonghan had spent many nights before where he would stay awake and wait for joshua, falling asleeo as it was late, and waking up to joshua not being there. he understood that he was busy at work but he still wished that he had time for him.
after searching through multiple photos and visioning how they were before, it was his turn to pay for things. it wasnt worth that much, only twenty dollars. he payed for it and left.

he arrived infront of their house, still parked in the front. he stayed in his car, not seeing any point of going in. it wasn't like anyone was waiting for him at home or anything. it was dark outside, literally being eight at night. after half an hour of staying outside, he finally decided to go in, almsot forgetting the present but thankfully remembered right before he went in.
he went in, heading upstairs to their room. when be went in, he saw something that je didn't expect, joshua was laying there, peacefully sleeping. he quietly put the plushies in the closet, hiding them. soon, he changed his clothes and went next to joshua. putting himself under joshua's arms that was over a pillow, enjoying the moment that never usually happened.
he then felt joshua slowly move. "hannie?" he said, shocked at seeing jeonghan there when he slept with a pillow there earlier. "hmm?" he turned to look at joshua. "oh nothing. i was just surprised since you weren't there earlier, only a pillow."
"wait, i'm confused. why are you here, aren't you supposed to be at work?" joshua looked confused. "don't you want me here?" jeognhan quickly defended himself. "no, no, no, it's just that you're usually at work, why are you here now?"
"ohh, we didn't have anything to work on there so i decided to stay at home. i thought you would be happier since i'm never usually home." he sounded sad at the end. "i am happy and i actually need to give you something." he went to the closet taking out the plushies. "i wanted to give you this since it's your birthday. happy birthday!" he handed placed them at the end of the bed.

"i'm sorry shua! i know it's not that much." he looked down. "it's fine hannie. to be honest, you didn't even have to get me anything for my birthday." he went up and hugged him, jeonghan soon hugged back. "but, i don't even get you anything for your birthday while you give me loads if stuff for mine."
"it's because i love seeing your smile. that's all i want as a gift. your pretty smile." he gave him a kiss. he then pulled back, looking at the eyes of the older, jeonghan blushed, looking away.
"shua, can i ask you something." the younger nodded as he layed down on the bed, jeonghan following to lay beside him. "do you love me?" he was taken aback at the question. "of course i love you! what makes you think i don't?"
"you usually stay at work too much and i don't really see you that much. i just wish that we could be like how we were before when you weren't a ceo. we were always together." joshua felt bad. "i'm sorry hannie. i can go home more if you want?" his eyes suddenly lit up. "will you really?" shua kissed him on the cheek, making him blush. "of course i will, angel." he blushed even more at the nickname.
"now come on, let's rest. here you can use this!" he handed him the bunny that was holding a carrot. "but it's supposed to be yours." he gave him his cute eye smile. "and you bought it. i want you to able to use it too. plus, there's two. one for you and one for me. now come on, take it." he took it, hugging it tightly. "see, you're much cuter than the bunny!"
both of them layed their heads on their bunny. joshua pulled jeonghan closer to him, his head near his chest, the older just acting like a baby. "goodnight my angel!"
