"how was everyone's day," cecilia asked her kids as they were all sat down at the dining table, eating their dinner. "leo, did you enjoy school better today?"
"yes," the youngest davis sibling nodded. "i wrote a story, and then- and then we got to draw and color, and may and tyler and- and uh henry and wally, we all played soccer with some other people at lunch!"
"is may your girlfriend," ollie teased his brother, letting out a small laugh. "do you think she's preetttyyy?"
"may's very pretty," he nodded once again.
"your gonna be a heartbreaker, mister," he playfully roughed up the other's hair.
"don't teach him to do that," penelope shook her head at him. "you're gonna treat may and all girls with respect, leo."
"mh, listen to your sister," their father agreed with a small hum. "and no crazy girls, renee was enough to deal with."
"she was hot," ollie shrugged as he reminisced on his ex-girlfriend. he then laying his arm around his brother's shoulders. "some advice though.. if a girl's hot and crazy, don't hook up with her, keep her in the spank bank-"
"don't say that to him," vivianne swung her arm at the elder boy. "bro, he's nine."
"and you're fourteen, you shouldn't know what it means either," he slightly side-eyed her.
"you shouldn't know either," she mocked with a scoff. "you're so annoying."
"how about you both just settle down, eat your dinner and stop talking inappropriately," cecilia replied, the two following as she asked. "and how was your day, my quiet girl?"
"it was good," penelope softly nodded as a smile appeared on her face. "um could i stay at aurora's tomorrow night? she said she can take me to work on saturday morning."
"just you two?"
"uh no, layla and elias will be there," she explained. "her mom will be home too."
"yes, that's fine," her mother nodded.
"the way you parent her compared to me is insane," ollie softly shook his head. "i was like never allowed out to hang with friends."
"we let you go to parties basically every weekend," barnard corrected him. "we just didn't let you stay places, and you know why. so if you wanna keep complaining about it, son, go get a job and move out."
"yeah, yeah, whatever."
"how come they're always allowed to do things but i'm not," vivianne huffed. "like why can't i stay at my girlfriends, not like i'm gonna get pregnant from them."
"we've told you, until we've meet this girl, you're not staying at her place."
"yeah cause you don't trust they're a girl, cause you can't understand pronouns, everyone must be a he or a she's in your eyes!" she groaned, getting up from the dinning table. "i'm going to my room," she added through a mutter as she walked away towards the stairs.
"ollie!" leonardo flicked his head towards his brother. "can we go play with the football before bed?"
"yeah, finish up eating first, bud," he replied while standing up, grabbing his and his youngest sister's plates and utensils, then taking them over to the kitchen.
"then you gotta shower afterward," cecilia mentioned.
"yes momm," he nodded as he continued to quickly finish his dinner.
"i'm going to go have a shower now actually before they're back inside," penelope said as she got up, picking up her plate and her parents acknowledged her comment. "c'mon leo, come wash your plate off."
helping her younger brother rinse off his dishes, then doing her own and placing them in the dishwasher, penelope finally headed over to her bedroom to find her pyjamas and put her phone on to charge before going into the bathroom next to her bedroom.
and after a few hours had passed by, she was now back in her room, doing a face-mask as she laid stomach down on her bed with her chin rested on her folded arms and her kitten cuddled up beside her. a smile on her face while she rewatched one of her favorite romance movies off her laptop.
her movie was soon interrupted by a phone call which caused her to grab her phone, hanging up the call and realising the time as she unlocked it and opened the messages from her older brother, quickly replying to him before turning her attention back to the screen.
and within just a couple minutes, ollie had quietly made his way downstairs and entered into her bedroom, staring at her laptop for a second as she paused her show and removed one of her headphone whilst she turned her attention to him.
"are you going to corbyn's party tomorrow tonight?" ollie asked as he pat the kitten.
"leave betty alone," she moved his hand away from her. "and why?"
"i don't know.. cause i might be going, and you know you said you were hanging out with aurora and your friends at her house.. but we both know her mother's careless and will happily lie to other parents.."
"why would you be going?" she furrowed. "don't you have like college parties are stuff to go to? why do you have to ruin my senior year?"
"so you we're planning to go," he raised a brow. "who's wanting you?"
"no one!" she annoyingly huffed. "just leave already. what are you even tryna get at from this conversation?"
"just wondering which fuckhead i've gotta watch and possibly give a talkin' to so they don't break my little sis's heart," he grinned. "big brother duties."
"i don't know why you think someone would be into me," she slightly mumbled.
"mh.. also if you think me showing up to a party is ruining your senior year, it's not, unless you're planning on doing some shit you don't want me to see," he shrugged. "anyway have i ever snitched you into mom? oh that's right.. never because neither of us will be able to sneak out then."
"oh and make sure you take down all your posters before invite a guy over, no guy's gonna wanna fuck you while harry style's and.. all those other people are staring at them," he swung his hand around the wall space above her headboard as he walked over towards the glass door that lead to their backyard.
"just go already, ollie," she shook her head at him as she put her headphone back in. "and don't wake me up again tonight when you get home."
AUTHOR'S NOTE! meet the davis family :) wanted to do a little chapter for them so everyone gets the dynamic. also before everyone questions penny's room and why she has a door to the backyard and why ollie uses it ect i imagine it to be like a converted entertainment sorta room so they had bedrooms for all the kids it'll all properly be explained in a later chapter 👍
