sat in her bed on the friday evening, cuddled up to jude as they watched a movie off her tv. it only being the day after completely ending things with jonah, and she was already feeling so much happier, like a weight had been lifted off her chest.
her head was soon flicking over to the door as she heard what she thought was her friends, furrowing and subtly shaking her head in confusion as her main three ones entered her bedroom. jude just as confused since she had said nothing about them coming.
"hey.." penelope watched them as they said a simple greeting back and starting looking through belongs on her desk and around her room. "can i help you..?"
"these are coming with us," aurora spoke as she grabbed the flowers from the american boy out of the vase, being careful not to drip water everywhere as she placed them into a paper bag.
"what are you doing?" she quickly hoped out of bed.
"hey, we'll buy you new flowers, okay," she reassured the younger. "these ones are going though."
"and this," layla flashed the birthday card the same boy gave to her once she found it amongst all of them.
"and where's the photo frame?" elias raised a brow.
"in.. the.. top drawer," she slightly mumbled, pointing at her desk.
"and the note from that night?" aurora added.
"in there too.." she watched as they grabbed the said items out. "what's going on..?"
"we're having a friends night- sorry not sorry jude, you ain't invited. we're going down to our spot and we're burning this stuff, moving on from jonah," aurora explained. "and no sneaking out needed, cece's already agreed."
"and that phone's coming. we're clearing the camera roll," layla added. "also elias' brothers are coming with us, we don't think we're capable of making a fire."
"and it's probably safer than some girls and a gay guy trying," elias chuckled.
penelope simply glanced down at her pyjama's then over to jude, not sure on what to say.
"go, go hang with your friends, it's fine," jude smiled at the girl. "i'll stay here and finish the movie for us, and let you know what happens."
"okay," she then turned her attention back to her friends. "let me go get changed quickly."
"go for it," aurora nodded.
"wait. do you have anything else from jonah?" layla raised a brow. "that we don't know about?"
"um.." she looked around her room. "let me get changed first," she said as she stepped passed aurora to get into her dress and grabbed jeans out before leaving her room.
".. so what are you watching?" aurora finally broke the awkward silence and gaze between them and jude, turning around and taking a seat on the end of the bed as the other two also looked at the screen.
"uh.. everything, everything," he answered with slight uncertainty in his tone, following with a small chuckle. "funnily enough, the girl's falling in love with her neighbour."
"ah of course," layla nodded. "penny loves her love stories."
"okay, i'm ready," penelope soon walked back into the room, breaking her friends' attention away from the movie. grabbing her phone off her beside table and placing it in her pocket.
"are you gonna grab whatever else you have from jonah?" elias asked.
"i don't have anything else," she shook her head.
"you acted like you did," layla mentioned. "the look around the room and wanting to put it off.."
"i just needed more time to think," she quickly defended herself. "there's nothing else."
"okay, let's go then," aurora stood up from the bed, still carrying the bag with the things from the boy in it as they all walked out of the room.
"bye, i guess," jude called out with a small laugh.
penelope quickly turned around, gently pushing past her friends as she rushed back into her bedroom. going around to the other side of the bed, she placing both her hands on jude's cheeks as she let over the bed a little, and kissed him.
"bye.." she softly spoke with a smile on her face.
"have fun pretty"
AUTHOR'S NOTE! book started with penny and her friends teased about a relationship with jonah and ended with a cute little chapter of them closing the chapter in her life of him off :))
