third person.
"marco, do you want to head to math class now?" penelope softly spoke as she questioned the boy as they stood with their three friends by their lockers.
"yeah we can go now," he nodded.
"we're gonna head to class.." penelope informed the others. "i've got some homework i need to get done before the lesson."
"you didn't do your homework last night?" layla raised a brow at the younger. "don't tell me you were with jonah.."
"no," she shook her head. "i just wasn't feeling up to it, i went to sleep early. i knew i could get it done quickly before the lesson."
"i was gonna say, i don't remember seeing his car out the front," elias commented.
"you're all good penny, don't listen to them," aurora reassured her. "we'll see you at.."
"second period.."
"tuesday, right, art class, i was thinking what day it was," she laughed, whilst marco was sharing a quick goodbye with his boyfriend.
"i'll see you two then.. and you later, layla," she shared a small smile with the three.
and with that penelope and marco begun walking off away from their friends and towards their mathematics classroom with about ten minutes before the bell was due to ring.
"we didn't get homework yesterday..?" marco softly furrowed as he somewhat questioned the girl. "or did i miss something?"
"no.. i just wanted some time before the class chaos.. but didn't want to go alone.."
"fair," he nodded. "it's needed sometimes."
"could you please sit next to me today?" she switched the topic as they walked into the empty classroom.
"yeah, of course," he quickly agreed. "don't want jonah there?"
"m-mh," she shook her head.
"did something happen?" marco raised a brow while they took a seat. "i thought you were trying to get back at him? or is this part of the plan?"
"i'm done with him now," she slightly mumbled as she kept her gaze away from him and instead on grabbing her notebook out of her backpack ready for the lesson.
".. did something happen?"
"i asked him to do something and now it's just backfired on me.. although he promised that it wouldn't happen," she sighed. "i don't know what i expected.."
"most straight guys stuck- and i'm sure there's a few that literally do on the down low," he softly laughed to hopefully lighten her mood. "anyway penny, like we've been telling you for ages, you'll find someone who loves you the way you deserve."
"mh.."
"hey, i mean taylor once said.. you'll do things greater in life than dating the boy on the football team."
"fifteen," penelope softly smiled as she stated the title. "your favorite song, i remember you telling me that."
"yes, it is," he exchanged a smile in return. "but just because we're not fifteen anymore, it doesn't mean we're not still learning about this cruel world we're living in. and it also doesn't mean some boys now know how to act their age and treat girls well."
"i know.."
".. can i know why you're upset with him?" he asked as the bell for the lesson finally rung.
"instead of telling his friends he was the problem, he made it out like i'm actually a slut and now i've already gotten a couple dms last night of guys asking to get with me. and i'm scared for what people are gonna say today.."
"he doesn't deserve you at all, nor do any of the boys in your dms asking to sleep with you or who say shit to or towards you. please remember that."
"i will.."
AUTHOR'S NOTE! i love penny and marco's friendship
also i'm sure they've basically had this convo before (i've written a lot i don't remember it all lol) but it's important for him to remind her that she deserves better cause she's yet to accept it
