after the friday night football game at the opposing school, a lot of seniors had made their way to the cheer caption's house to celebrate their school's first win of the season. with the house already next to full and music blaring by the time penelope and her friends had arrived.
grabbing a drink, the group wandered around for a moment as they found somewhere to hang out before penelope had dismissed herself from them and made her way over to jonah once she had noticed ruby leave him.
"you came," the boy smiled at her.
"impressive," jack slowly nodded with his arms folded, following with chuckled as they furrowed their brows at him.
"get your fuckin' mind out of the gutter," daniel shoved him.
"sorry, sorry.."
"you getting drunk tonight.." corbyn took a few seconds as he thought of her name, as she didn't replied despite know he was asking her. "penny, penny, i in fact do know your name."
"i'm not," she shook her head. "i have work in the morning."
"hmm.. right."
"leave her alone," jonah slightly muttered.
"..how was the game?" penelope somewhat awkwardly asked as she glanced around the group.
"i've told you, you're my lucky charm and you weren't there so what do you think?" jonah raised his brow at her.
"don't listen to his bullshit," daniel interrupted him, shaking his head. "we won tonight-"
"hey boyfriend," ruby slightly called out as she skipped back over to them, stopping and then looking around the group before at penelope with confusion plastered all over her face. "who are you?"
"she's like a sister, don't worry" jonah spoke up while his friends just wanted to see how he handed the situation, grabbing ruby's hand and moving her to his side as he wrapped his arm over her shoulder. "you remember ollie?"
"of course i remember him," she scoffed, stepping forward to see the girl on his other side better. "just so you he's fucked in the head. we fucked around.. he fucked me up then he fuckin' left-" she cut herself off and flicked her head towards the other boys as they laughed. "shut the fuck up, i'm tryna help a girl out cause i know the type of guy he is."
"ollie's my older brother.." penelope awkwardly replied.
"oh.. well i don't remember him having a sister our age though.."
"nah dude, they're clearly related," zach said in slurs. "ollie's one finee man, it clearly runs in their bloodline- their mom as well-"
"dude, sHUT UP," jack hit the younger.
"boy's right, mom's a milf," corbyn softly nodded.
"i'm going to go find my friends.."
"stay, stay," ruby smiled at the girl who was clearly feeling uncomfortable. "get to know this dickhead, he's into you-"
"what, no, wait, no, no, no, no," zach quickly shook his head. "no, i'm not into her."
"that's fucked up to say in front of her.." she tilted her head at him. "will say that you're down to fuck her mom and that she's hot but god forbid being into her."
"nah she has a boyfriend," jonah chimed in.
"who?" ruby flicked her head back towards her. "do i know him."
"uh.. um.. probably not.." penelope hesitantly said, struggling to come up with a response.
"is he here?"
"no.."
"hm."
"also.." penelope spoke up with a little more confident as the alcohol started to get into her system. "i know what happened between you and ollie.. he never just left you, he and my family were nothing but nice to you and helped you.. and then you cheated on him.."
"okay, you can leave now," ruby slightly raised her voice. "there's no reason for you to be around my boyfriend and his dumbass friends, so leave before i kick you out of my house."
"okay," she softly shrugged.
"also! ollie and i never dated," she added. "so get your fuckin' story straight because what you just said is wrong, i never cheated, i just got with another guy after the shit he put me through because i didn't want to deal with him anymore. i did in fact hook him and renee up though, cause i know she's a psycho and i wanted him to know that karma is a bitch."
