"THE WORLD WILL KNOW YOUR NAME," Freya had whispered to Maeve as a promise several times over the past centuries.
And each time, Maeve had smiled at her and replied, "maybe one day."
But now that day was today, and Maeve had shed the armor she had been wearing for centuries.
She felt bare and she wasn't sure if she liked it.

ME: The stories spread like wildfire about the original heretic
The truth had been given to the world
And now it was time to not only see how they would react but who Maeve truly was.
She had nothing to hide behind now - the mask had come down.

The Mikaelson's left behind the shocked Strix vampires. Maeve leaned on Freya's shoulder as they drove back to the compound.
The witch pressed her check on Maeve's head, "it's good to have you back," she whispered.
Maeve smiled, reaching for Freya's hand. She, despite the weirdness and fear she felt, also felt an odd sense of peace, the world now knew who she was.
"It feels good to be home," Maeve replies, but she wasn't referring to New Orleans.
Elijah from the driver seat looked up into his mirror at the two women cuddled together in the back seat, "and just in time for the holidays."
"Just as I planned."
The siblings didn't know the details of everything that had just happened but they did know that Maeve was in more control of the situation then it had appeared to be like. And they knew Marcel wasn't quite the most loyal Strix member, but none of them - even Klaus - dared to ask Maeve anything.

MARCEL: Luckily, the Strix hadn't come to the same conclusion as them.
ME: They didn't know what Maeve meant to you? Despite her prior stay in the city?
MARCEL: You remember the journals Maeve had?
ME: [nods]
MARCEL: Well they belonged to the only Strix member who had seen the two of us together. And at this point, he was dead.
So I guess you could say that despite the world knowing Maeve existed, they didn't really know who she was.
They knew who the Original Heretic was but not Maeve MIkaelson.
