"WHERE IS SHE?" Maeve hisses to Elijah who she has pinned on the wall.
"I don't know," Elijah hisses in reply, pushing against Maeve's hold.
Finn sighs but the tension is visible on his expression and in his stance, "Maeve, please. We need to focus."
She whirls around, "Oh I'm focused. And as far as I'm concerned Freya will be returned to us by end of night or this world's fate will suddenly get much darker."

CAMILLE "CAMI" O'CONNELL (HEAD OF THE SUPERNATURAL COALITION): The Mikaelson family dynamic has always been complicated.
ME: How would you best explain it?
CAMI: They grew up in the time of vikings which had parents acting more as teachers than guardians.
So it wasn't Esther and Mikael who were the parents of the siblings, but Elijah. He is their guardian and has been for a thousand years.
He was the one who looked out for Klaus and Rebekah and Kol. Even Finn at one point. He kept his family together through countless battles, fights, wars, bloodshed, betrayals...through everything.
Elijah Mikaelson was the greatest guardian of always and forever.
ME: So different than what Maeve was of the oath?
CAMI: Yes. Maeve was always the defender. When one of the siblings would cause a mess, she would defend them and clean it up.
Then there is Freya who is their greatest protector. While all three - guardian, protector, defender - may all seem the same, they are very different and the distinction is crucial. If Maeve came after the destruction and Elijah was there during it, then Freya came before it. Freya would try to prevent it, while Elijah would join and be by his sibiling's side and Maeve would orchestrate the aftermath to fall in their favor.
But all three were the greatest soldiers of always and forever until Maeve changed its meaning and we all began to fight for it more than ever before.

"What enemy would be the boldest?" Cami questioned trying to piece together what happened.
"Lucien," Maeve speaks softly.
"How is it you know?" Klaus immediately turns on her with an accusing tone through the phone - not that she knew of Lucien's plan but that she knew he was a danger.
