2 years passed since she stumbled on the small community created centuries ago by Druig, Reina knew that day was one she would never forget. She sat by the river when he found her out there. She knew what he was the moment he tried to mind control her thinking that she was hiding something from him. His eyes glowed gold but dimmed and showed confusion when hers didn't glow in response like they should have.

"Mind games don't work on me" Her voice was calm in contrast to him.

"How?" He demanded

"My mind is as tough as steel , no one can get in, no matter how powerful, People have tried. All have failed'' He stared at her at a loss for words. Something clicked between them that day, he found some sort of comfort in the fact that he couldn't control her. She became a person he could actually trust and he became the same for her. 2 years later she never left that community, she never left Druig, the eternal that could mess with the human mind except for her, the one person that he could never control and never wanted to. He found comfort in the fact that she stayed with him not because he controlled her but of her own free will. She stayed because she wanted to. She believed in his efforts to stop wars and protect people from themselves. She stayed not because this was all she knew but because she knew more, and saw the destruction people caused to themselves. She believed in his cause. There was only one problem that they shared. They started to fall in love with each other. After years of both being numb and refusing to acknowledge their emotions, neither couldn't suppress the happiness and sense of freedom that they found in each other. To him, she was a mystery, parts of her past revealed to him but in vague detail. He could tell it hurt her to talk about when she was with her old family. She told him about her adventures around the world but when it got to her talking before she ran away she went silent as pain glossed over her eyes. All he knew was that her family was barely one and that she ran because of what her father had done to her and her siblings but never knew what exactly he did other than it left scars on her body and her soul. He understood that. He didn't like talking about the other Eternals either so they left it at that and created new memories. Both had pain with the people they used to call family, so they found a family in the community and each other. They grew closer over time to the point that they barely left each other's sides during the day. Druig tried to train her a couple of times so she could fight against the deviants if need be, but she always told him she could handle herself and for some reason, he didn't doubt that.

And for the first time in her life, she felt like she had a home. She felt safe. She felt cared for. She allowed herself to let down the guard she had built all those years ago and kept up no matter who she was around. And to her, that was more than she could ever say. She cared for him. She loved him. But was she ready to admit that to him? Was she ready to finally let someone in after all these years? Maybe she was. And maybe he was too.
