The Lost Queen (Druig x OC) (Eternals)

Part 31: Early

It didn't take long for the others to get ready, mostly out of fear considering how Reina had gone to get everyone. Instead of just knocking on their doors, she decided that would take too long so she just shouted down the hallway to get everyone awake. Despite the look Phastos gave her, her crazy methods were very effective, getting everyone up and ready and out within at most 5 minutes.

Once everyone was out, Phastos started to explain everything. "We were wrong. We thought we had 3 days left before Surtur emerges and tries to destroy the realm."

"So how long do we actually have?" Luther asks from the corner of the room.

"12 hours at best." Reina steps in.

"And at worst?" Five stepped forward with a concerning look on his face.

"8 hours. We have 8 hours to get ready for a war against a god and the personification of the most unpredictable element known to nine realms"

"That's not a lot of time," Ikarus pointed out.

"Wow! No kidding Sherlock holmes. We never could have figured that out." Klaus responded sarcastically.

"Who's Sherlock Holmes?" Ikarus asked dumbfounded.

"He's joking tight?" Reina leaned over to ask Druig, "Tell me he's joking, please."

"Who's Sherlock Holmes?" Druig repeated Ikarus's question to Reina.

"We'll talk about your lock of pop culture knowledge later." Reina finally said back before turning back to the entire group. 

"Time is never infinite. You take the time you have and you do what you can with it. The time we have doesn't mean anything unless we make something of it," Reina retorted to Ikarus with a snarky tone as she gave a disapproving stare to Ikarus.

"You see, that's a lesson you learn when you are mortal and have a limited time on earth. That's something you wouldn't know to much about since you... you know... immortal." Klaus jumped in with a goofy grin on his face.

"We don't have time for this" Five pointed out.

"Five's right, We can't waste the time we have arguing." Phastos stepped in. "We have less than 8 hours before the battle and we need a plan"

"I thought we already had a plan" Diego chimed in

"We have the start of a plan," Reina started, "We know the outline of what to do but we need the details for it to work. We need a plan to deal with this and we need backup plans just in case."

"Oh little Reina, always so cautious. We are going to be fine." Klaus smile. 

"Number one, I'm older than you, by a lot. Number 2, I have a reason to be cautious. We are going against the god that killed me the last time I faced it. This isn't just another mission. This is it. This is nothing like we've ever faced before and if you underestimate him, you are as good as dead. He isn't like the people we've fought before."

"Reina's right. The people we've fought before never had powers, they were normal humans. We've never fought a god before, let alone someone else with powers." Viktor chimed in.

"The only things we've ever fought were Deviants," Sprite claimed, "and even then only half of us would fight."

"Why only half?" Val asked. 

"Half of us are the fighters, the other half is called thinkers. They are the ones that helped humans advance. Thena, Gilgamesh, Ikarus, Makkarri, and Kingo were the fighters. Myself, Sprite, Sersi, Phastos, and Druig were the thinkers." Ajak explained

Reina leaned over and whispered into Druig's ear, laughing slightly, "You weren't a fighter..shocker." She giggle sarcastically causing Druig to playfully hit her leg, laughing a little himself.

"Hey, I'm a good fighter." Druig defended keeping his voice in a whisper.

"You mind controlled people to shoot Deviants," Reina retorted.

"So?"

"If you were a fighter I have a feeling you would have known that Deviants aren't effected by bullets. It tends to just piss them off."

"In my defense, we never actually tried shooting them in the past." Reina only lets out a huff of amusement at Druig comment and turns her attention back to the rest who continued to talk about what they needed to be prepared for while facing Surtur.

"How are we going to fight this?" Kingo asked.

"Together." Reina replied simply.

"We could lose." Ikarus retorted.

"Then we'll do that together too." Druig commented, looking at Reina with a smile.
