Everyone already had their assignments. They knew who they were going to fight and they wasted no time starting. Hela, Thor. and Val all went to fight Ta Ka, eventually being joined by Thena while everyone else went to hold off the army. Reina was the only one to go against Surtur directly. Eternals, gods, and Hargreeves all fought together against their common enemy. Teaming up in ways she would have never imagined.Val and Thena fighting side by side with their swords swinging masterfully in the air. Allison rumoring the being to freeze and Druig controlling them to stop while Sersi simply turned them to ice. Sprite creating a distraction while Diego throw around his knives. Seeing everyone fighting together was a sight to see and one that would bring a smile to Reina's face, especially since they now were winning. But Reina didn't have time to watch the show as she had her own battle to win, her own opponent to beat, and one that would not go down easily.
She clutched her staff hard in her left hand, the necklace Phastos made for her hung gently around her neck. Surtur and Reina stood opposite each other. The chaos grew around them as the fighting continued.
"Shall we?" Surtur spoke up, the smirk on his face growing larger by the second.
"Let's dance." Reina pushed back. Her smirk seemed to be permanently etched on her face. She showed no signs of hesitation or fear as she made herself float so she was more eye level with the massive being. Riena began throwing blue flames at him that would freeze parts of his body. The ice however only lasted a couple seconds against the flames that came from the god.
Ice didn't seem to be doing much. Not that it really mattered to Reina. That was only her distraction after all. A tool to get him annoyed and angry. Once he was angry, that's when the real fun began.
She could read him but, like she could everyone else, he could never read her. For him it was frustrating but for her it was a game. All a game. To Riena, he was an open book. One she knew by heart. One she could recite in my head without looking at the pages. One written in a different language but one she could understand perfectly as if it was her first, and in a way it was. The temperament of the god match the one of her fathers, yet one was a king and the other a beast. His book was know to her, his story told over and over again in her memory but it never had an ending. It left on a cliff hanger with only a promise that the story didn't end there and it was now being completed, and she was the one writing his ending. She promised herself that she would write it perfectly, leaving no room for question that it was in fact the end. She had every intention to end his story as a way to make sure that her families stories continued on.
Ice ball after ice ball was thrown, Surtur only getting angrier by the second. He threw a single fire ball in return knocking her to the ground momentarily.
"Reina!" She hears a shoot, looking over to see Thor.
"Don't worry, I've got this all under control"
"Is that why everything's on Fire?"
"I like it better this way." Reina remarks as she flew back up to Surtur's level and continuing her attack. A small pause from Reina was all it took for Surtur to throw a beam of fire towards her, hitting her square in the chest. Surtur smirked thinking he's winning until the smirk faded into a horrified look as he felt the power being drained from his body as he tried to pull away but failed.
It took him a second to realize what was happening but it soon hit him that he was loosing. Dying.
