The Lost Queen (Druig x OC) (Eternals)

Part 47: Proclamation

Reina stood in front of the growing crowd as the time of her scheduled meeting drew nearer. Druig and Sprite lingered near the back of the crowd, both dressed in traditional Asgard clothing. Val, Hela, Thor, and Loki stood behind Reina, all wearing there normal formal outfits.

Reina leaned slightly against the pedestal in front of her that held a microphone that might as well have been a prop as it didn't work very well and her voice was loud enough that she didn't need it anyway. As always, Reina's voice was strong and commanding that no one else spoke after she started.

"Asgardians," Reina's voice boomed getting everyone's attention and the crowd kneeled to her before standing back up to listen to her, "As queen of Asgard, I officially lift the curfew and bring the news that you no longer have to fear Surtur's return as he has been defeated and can no longer threaten Asgard or it's people." Reina paused as the crowd cheered in relief. Looking behind her, Reina made eye contact with Loki, who gave her an encouraging smile once he saw her nervous look. Looking back out at the crowd who were still cheering, Druig caught her eye and smiled at her as well. With her siblings behind her and Druig in the crowd, she took a deep breath and looked out over the crowd.

"I am also happy to announce that I will be returning to Asgard permanently and taking back both my title and throne as I return as Queen" As Reina stopped the crowd cheered even louder than they had before. Reina stepped back as she was done speaking and the crowd began to disperse.

Once everyone was gone, Druig and Sprite approach the podium, as Druig smiled up at Reina. Sprite went over to talk to Val.

"Do you do stuff like this alot?" Druig questioned.

"Luckily no." Reina answered, reaching out a hand to him to help pull him on top of the platform so the could go back in the castle.

"After almost 2000 years of living, and almost a century of being queen, you still hate public speaking." Loki remarked from behind her.

"Ok to be fair over a fourth of those 100 years were spent on Earth, where I tried my best to avoid the public as a whole," Reina retorted in a mockingly defensive tone

"Great now that we got the announcement out of the way, let's party," Thor butted in, putting a hand on Loki's shoulder.

"Please... no" Loki said with a pained voice as he put his head in his hands.

"Oh come on... Reina?" Thor's eyes went to Reina, hoping from her backup.

"Yeah... no. I have to go with Loki on this one. You and parties don't go well together."

"Me and parties go so well together! I love parties"

"That's the problem." Loki mumbled

"What's the problem with me liking parties?"

"Cause at parties you get drunk, and when you get drunk you get stupid." Reina responded with sarcasm lacing her voice.

"I do not."

"Yes, Yes you do" Reina, Loki, Hela and Val said at the same time causing Thor to give up and walk back into the castle.
