The next morning Riena woke up once again in Druig's arms. She smiled up at him, a small smile painted on his lips as he slept. She slowly got out of bed as not to disturb Druig. She slowly creeped her way to the bathroom. Looking into the mirror, she found her hair had straightened out from when it was curled, but it was now slightly puffed out. Nothing a brush can't fix, she thought to herself, grabbing the brush from the side of the bathroom sink. She brushed through her hair, even wincing a little as she pulled the brush through the knots.
"This is why I never curl my hair." Reina mumbles to herself as she finishes brushing her hair and looking in the mirror where she sees her hair has gotten even more frizzy, so she decides to pull it back into a ponytail. She washed her face and changed into jeans and a t-shirt before heading out to Phatos's lab to see him already awake and pacing around. "Hey Phastos, Everything all right?"
"Yeah, Yeah, It's nothing." Phastos stammered, causing Reina's eyes to narrow.
"You're lying." Reina stated simply, grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl on one of the tables in the corner.
"What makes you say that?"
"You're very smart Phastos, but you aren't a good liar. If you want to be good at that you'd have to ask Kingo, Allison, or Loki... or my father?"
"You see them as liars?"
"Not necessarily, Kingo and Allison are both actors. They lie as their job in all technicality. Loki is the god of mischief, he knows how to lie."
"And your father?"
"Now he's a liar."
"Which one?"
"What do you mean?"
"Odin or Sir Reginald Hargreeves?"
"Huh, you know, either one would fit." She shrugs but then her eyes go wide and she looks back at Phastos, " Wait a second, you're trying to change the subject."
"I would never do such a thing," Phastos laughs without looking up at her and trying to look innocent, a facade that Reina quickly saw through. Reina didn't need to say anything. She tilted her head to the side a little, never once diverting her eyes from the nervous Phastos. Her stare burned into the back of Phastos's head, causing even more nerves to shoot up the eternal's spine. The goddess's gaze was relentless and got even more intense by the minute until, what felt like an eternity later, he finally gave in. "Fine, take a look."
He stepped aside from his workstation to show a projected 3D sphere that looked to be a mini copy of the earth. It started to rotate slowly until Phastos held up his hand causing it to spin even fast until he pulled his hand down causing it to stop. Looking at the copy of the earth she found a small red dot that was pulsing in the Indian ocean off the coast of Australia. It was far from the coast and on top of a tiny island. "I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the pulsing red dot is not a good thing."
"And you would be right," Phastos responded, "The amount of heat coming from that area gave away Surtur and Ta Ka but it's extremely hotter than expected."
"Meaning they are coming sooner than expected." Reina finished the thought. Phastos could only nod in response, confirming her suspicions, "Well that definitely isn't good." Reina rubbed her face trying to think of a plan. This was definitely not what she expected first thing in the morning. Normal people woke up to breakfast or coffee but no. She had to wake up to news about a god that is coming to attack the earth. Then again she would never be normal and she was okay with that. What's the fun in that? At Least this is exciting. A little to exciting, but still. "How long until they emerge into this realm?"
"12 hours at most."
"At most? What about at least?"
"8 at least"
"I'll get the others."
