Months passed with Druig and Reina's new relationships and both were truly happy for one of the first times in their lives. He loved her smile, her strength, her intelligence, the mysterious part of her. She loved his eyes, his courage, his wit, his love. They loved each other more than they knew they could. Druig's normally strong and rigid personality calmed around her as he let himself smile for real for the first time in centuries. Reina's normal tough and cold demeanor warmed up around him as she allowed herself to trust for the first time in so many years. Both had complicated pasts. Reina knew he was an Eternal but he didn't know what she was and she was okay with that. This was their happy ending, but it wasn't the ending at all.

The leaves were all the colors of fall as the morning air blew in a way that sent shivers down people's spines. Most were in their house while Reina took an early morning walk, breathing in the cool air coming off the river. As she walked back towards the community she saw a group of people, 15 from her count standing with Druig in front of them on the porch of the community gathering space. 9 of those she recognized from a painting of the Eternals that she had seen in Druig's room. The other 6 others she couldn't help but recognize. The Umbrella Academy. They didn't see her as they walk inside. She crept to the window in the back that was slightly open, as she listened to the conversation. She heard everything. The world was ending because of a fire god. Surtur. She couldn't help that the name sounded familiar.

"So what do I have to do with this?" She heard Druig's voice loud and clear.

"We need you to put him to sleep" A strong voice rang out. One that reminded Reina of her younger years and the place she used to call home that she had tried so hard to outrun.

"Number 8 of the academy can control fire and ice so when we find her she can ice him or absorb the fire energy making him weaker and you can control him." Another softer voice came with an authoritative undertone.

"How exactly are you going to find this Eight?" Druig's voice rang out again after being told that no one has seen her for almost 15 years after running away.

"Our father made us these necklaces with the Academy logo on them. It allows us to track each other when needed but she hasn't turned hers on in a decade after we kept trying to find her but.. " Reina didn't need to hear anymore. She went to her house and changed into a track jacket and black leggings, reverting her style back to what it was before, and she ran to the river after grabbing a concealed box under her bed. As she made it to the river she took out the necklace she had grabbed so hastily on her way out. Looking at the charm with an umbrella printed on a white backing. Turning it over she saw the number she hated so much. 8. Her past was coming back to haunt her. She took a deep breath and pressed it, activating it after all these years. Putting it around her neck for the first time since she left, A flame appeared in one hand as her hair returned to its natural cherry red. As a blue flame appeared in the other, her eyes glowing blue and she felt the power coursing through her veins for the first time in almost 15 years, as memories rushed through her mind as a reminder of the stuff she did and of who she was. Memories of a girl she knew too well, a girl she thought, hoped, was gone forever, but she was wrong. The pendant lit up brighter, signifying her siblings getting closer. It's done. They're on their way. They'll know where she is. They'll know who she is. There's no hiding anymore.

No more running.
