(A/n: idk why that last chapter was so hard to get through, but now I've got so many future ideas 🤭 and I've probably mentioned this already, but I ain't following the shows storyline that much. Like I am but I'm not.)

The last thing I saw before my eyes faded into a blur, was Sensei Lawrence standing over top of us. His lips were agape molded into a frown, as terror filled his tired blue eyes. He stared down at me and Miguel, who was laying unconscious next to me beaten and bloody.
My breathing was shaky, and my body was trembling. Never in my life had I felt this much pain, as I was usually the one running away from these fights. But tonight was different, I was slowly slipping into a dark abyss from heavy exhaustion looming over me.
I should've known better.
Who was I to think I could take on Kyler Parks, Bruck's, and all their friends alone. I might have had the knowledge, and the speed, but I was still to weak... I was bound to lose this one. I guess this is what I get for being stupid and going at it alone without anyone able to back me up at the time.
Still I don't regret it at all.
"We need-"
I couldn't even get out one sentence, because it hurt too much.
"Shit..." was the last thing I heard as I slowly started to fall asleep next to Miguel. I fought hard against the drowsiness, but couldn't keep up as it inevitably took over my entire body. And soon enough I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore.
My parents are gonna kill me.
"Missy?" Someone's voice was echoing in my ears, but it wasn't enough to for me to bring myself back to reality. I needed a pull, my name just wasn't enough when all I could think about was the guilt that started to consume me.
Last night, I failed Miguel.
I failed Sensei Lawrence...
*knock* *knock* *knock*
"Ms. Barns?"
"Missy...? What! Who the hell are you?"
"I'm- Miguel's dad... I went to pick them up from the dance, and I think she got into a fight."
"Again?! Ugh I keep telling her..."
"Yeah well... kids are kids, what are ya gonna do."
