•••What I'd like to say, is that while I was sitting here eating a bag of Cheetos contemplating all of my choices up until now, that Eli came riding up to the strip mall. Ready to give me some kind of heart to heart pep talk.
I imagine it would go something like: "hey Missy." Then I'd reply with an equally sentimental greeting, welcoming him to come sit next to me.
"That was a mess..."
"Yup."
"Why are you out here so late?"
"Just so I can get away."
He would sit next to me and try and tell me that everything is going to be okay, probably crack some cheesy joke just to make me feel better. Like I said, I'd like to say that's what happened.
But it wasn't.
It was the complete opposite.
This time I was alone, sitting on the side of the curb thinking about tonight. Thankfully for me, the parking lot was completely empty, not even that one homeless lady was around. That one that's always here.
She used to freak me out, and honestly sometimes she still creeps me out, but I think now if she tried anything I could take her. Thanks to Johnny.
Ignoring the ungodly amount of spam calls I was getting that were blowing up my phone, I pulled out a pre-rolled up joint. With one flick against my lighter, I began activating the weed. Taking a huge inhale to ensure I feel the full effects.
Now before you go 'girl are you stupid?!' Maybe, but don't worry, I've been out at this empty mall doing this a thousand times already. Not once have I been caught, until tonight. And no, not in that way.
The little door bell jingle brought me back to reality, as I watched a familiar face exit the convenience store. At almost the same exact time a huge gust of wind rustled up the loose strands of my hair. Out came the familiar boy, carrying a slice of warm pizza.
The boy was Robby Keene.
"I don't get why I need to be here mom." I say unpacking all of aunt Karlee's groceries. There was so much meat on this counter, it could feed a whole third world country.
"Also she does know we're a house of four right?" I asked while pulling out a bottle of ketchup.
"My guess is she has more visitors." She chuckled.
