"WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR?"

"No one?! Daniel what are you doing here."

Plastic bags filled with bread, vegetables, meat, and fruit from the grocery store not to far away from our house, occupied my hands as I carried them from my car to my house. Thinking about Eli.

Flashbacks of our little make out session on the road filled my thoughts as I got up this morning, occupied the space in my mind as I fell asleep that same night. It brought a small smile to my face every time I picture him.

I was unable to concentrate, when I did basic things like brushing my teeth, getting dressed, doing my cashier job at the furniture store, and talking to other friends like Demetri and Miguel.

Who finally made it back home? I say that as more of a confused accusation as no one bothered to tell me he left the country... like  hello?! I feel like that's something I should've know. I wasn't completely off the grid!

Oh well, what matters is that he's home now. Safe and sound. He ended up texting me, telling his story of what happened in Mexico. That he found his real dad who turned out to be dangerous, then Sensei went down there to save him. With Robby...

Oh look, another person I don't speak to.

Anyways, needless to say I was extremely disappointed that no one kept me up to date. I wasn't mad, like I wasn't going to hold it over anybody's heads, but it still sucked to be out of the loop.

"Hey."

I stopped in my tracks at the sound of a familiar voice that caught me off guard, and brought me back out of lala land. Was it who I thought it was... or was my mind just messing with me?

I turned around to see who it was, only to be met with Tory.

Who looked conflicted.

I on the other hand was not conflicted, but sort of angry with what she did to me at the tournament. I know we were trying to be family and all, but she knew her limits and broke them. Forcing me to walk with this cane, and have a tortured back. For life.

"No! Go away..." I growled, dropping the grocery bag to the ground. Holding out my one free hand to defend myself incase of a fight.

She just stood there.

Calm and sorrowful.

"I'm not here to fight." She said.

I took in a big breath and held it.

"I don't care! Go home before I call the cops!"

Maybe I was still somewhat afraid of her, being held disabled now... it was easy to get beaten down. Who knows who's watching her. Terry...? Kreese?! Big Red.
