Fancy trunks were placed at my feet. Ones that held clothes that now belonged to me. A kiss from him is placed on my cheek as everyone cheers.
White petals flow from somewhere as we stand outside of the car. The chateau stood still in front of me with a crowd of people wishing us off on our honeymoon. A concept that always made me laugh a little. Sending someone off to fuck with congratulations.
Olive pulls me in for a hug "I packed you something special!" She pulls back with a smug look spread across her face.
"Olive," she shushed me and stepped away.
Hayes opens the car door for me and I step inside sinking into its leather interiors. I felt like I was in a snow globe. I was the snowman trapped on the inside while everyone just stared at me.
'The blushing bride!' according to New Magazine.
This wasn't a lifestyle I wanted to live, it wouldn't be one. I'd drift away from it and I knew I wouldn't love it. I'd simply not give it the attention it begged for. I liked to live a more simple life.
The door closes behind him and he signals to the driver as my attention turns towards the window.
"You did well today" I say glancing back at him and he nods, "where are we going? Why don't we just stay here?" He laughed at my suggestion.
But I didn't find it amusing, I wanted to stay. This place was more than enchanting and I'd never been anywhere more glamorous in my entire life.
"We can't honeymoon at our wedding venue, that's weird" his phone appears again and he begins to flip through it. In the window I see the reflection his screen full of emails, hundreds of them.
"What am I gonna do while you work? I'm gonna be alone in some foreign country exploring?" He doesn't look up at me, he just nods.
"Exactly, you make yourself sound so helpless, really Lily?" His attention remained fixed on his phone and I sighed pulling out mine. He obviously wasn't good with socializing.
I was tagged in social media posts and I opened Instagram to see them. I wouldn't lie, I looked beautiful in a way I never thought I could. But now I knew I looked like a raccoon with smudged mascara, hair undone and dress wrinkled.
"Where are we going?" I ask again.
"Mykonos, we are staying in a villa there for a few days" it takes me by surprise. The man who seemed to be a workaholic was suddenly down for a 'honeymoon'.
So I don't ask anything further and simply nod as my gaze rests out the window passing through the night.

My body is jolted. As I open my eyes I see a man who I don't recognize poking me.
Who the fuck was this?
