Fancy trunks were placed at my feet. Ones that held clothes that now belonged to me. A kiss from him is placed on my cheek as everyone cheers.
White petals flow from somewhere as we stand outside of the car. The chateau stood still in front of me with a crowd of people wishing us off on our honeymoon. A concept that always made me laugh a little. Sending someone off to fuck with congratulations.
Olive pulls me in for a hug. "I packed you something special!" She pulls back with a smug look spread across her face.
"Olive," she shushed me and stepped away.
Hayes opened the car door for me, and I stepped inside, sinking into its leather interior. I felt like I was in a snow globe—the snowman trapped inside, staring at everyone.

"You did well today," I say, glancing back at him, and he nods, "Where are we going? Why don't we just stay here?" He laughed at my suggestion.

"We can't honeymoon at our wedding venue; that's weird." His phone appears again, and he begins to flip through it. In the window, I see the reflection of his screen, which is full of hundreds of emails.
"What am I gonna do while you work? I'm gonna be alone in some foreign country exploring?" He doesn't look up at me; he just nods.
"Exactly. You make yourself sound so helpless, really, Lily?" His attention remained fixed on his phone, and I sighed, pulling out mine. He obviously wasn't good at socializing.

"Where are we going?" I ask again.
"Mykonos, we are staying in a villa there for a few days." It takes me by surprise. The man, who seemed to be a workaholic, was suddenly down for a 'honeymoon.'
So, I don't ask anything further and simply nod as my gaze rests on the window as I pass through the night.

My body is jolted. As I open my eyes, I see a man who I don't recognize poking me.
