Alisha sat across from me stunned. Her mouth agape but eyes crossed with excitement. She's at a loss for words and her knowing Hayes since she was a child, makes sense.

"Oh my god" but instead she begins to cry "Lily" her voice filled with relief "you don't know how happy this-" she begins to choke up.

I can't help but laugh at her. I know it's cruel but she was undeniably cute "Ali" she raised her hand shaking her head.

"Lilian I've been waiting for this day and you tell me when I'm twenty weeks pregnant" she covers her lips "I'm an emotional wreck!" She leans back against her couch dramatically as I stand.

"I'll go get you that water" Frito jumps up on the couch "enjoy my dog"

"Thanks for bringing him over... don't tell Beckham. He has a little fear of Frito" I chuckle softly as I head in.

"Should I not touch the crystal glasses?"

"Yep, those were my mothers"

"Noted, you should hide those when you have mini you's running around" I grab a simple glass and fill it with pebbled ice and water. I walk back to her petting Frito.

"You ready to graduate?"

"I wish I could chug vodka right now, but it's 8:45 in the morning and I'm pretty sure that's frowned upon? Unless I went to Tulane"

"Cool ass school, mistake on your part" she sits up slightly "you have to go soon and I need to get ready, style me graduate!"

"Oh I don't think-"

"I know you're the best at this, your style has enhanced since you've been in love" she says giddy following me up the stairs.

"I have somewhere to be soon"

"Mhmm, and we also have to collect your husband at the office. So chip chop"

I'll never not be uncomfortable going into Hayes's work, but having Alisha made it slightly better. I left my cap and gown in the car for good reason, that would've been far more embarrassing. It just screams, she's ten years younger.

I never cared for age gaps, and today I wasn't going to be shamed for it. We get to the floor and enter as we hear yelling and as I look ahead, it's Hayes yelling at some other guy.

As I drew closer I could hear their conversation "Are you insane? Bribing another company is not how I work? You know what you should take the day off before I think about firing you!" His eyes shift up to me and then glance back to the man.

"Get out" I look to James who shared a grimaced expression looking over.

"Morning Lily, Alisha" he mumbled as I nod and looked over as the paled man rushes out of Hayes office and he signals us to come in.
