"Okay why are you both here at 7am?" She rubbed her eyes sleepily half awake in her fuzzy duck slippers and floral night gown.
I stood taking the box of donuts from Hayes's hands and handing it over to her.
"Oh god, what did you do?" Olives expression changes as she steps aside welcoming us both into my former apartment.
"The donuts are an I'm sorry for waking you up this early. But we are on our way out of town-"
"Oh god it's worse than I thought, your running?! Where are you going- wait! Don't tell me because then I'll have to say-" My hand goes over her mouth as she begins to freak out.
"We are not running, just going to the beach for the weekend Olive." She looks at me and then Hayes uncertain and then nods her head in understanding, but then she winks.
"No we are being serious Olive, we just wanted to bring you breakfast and chat." She glanced at the donut box.
"So am I the one who's in trouble? Because I never told anyone about your arrangement, even now that you guys are you know" She smirked, "My love birds" she teased.
"Alright Olive take a seat and no your not in trouble." Hayes gestures to the counter top and she stares at him strangely.
"Then what's this about? Oh my god, are you whisking me away to? Am I your sugar baby!" She claps excited as the sarcasm seeps through.
"Ok I think you need to cool down." I hand her the box of donuts and she sighs.
"You're right Lil" I watch as she snatched the box from the counter and opened it. For a second she looks confused as she sees the test in the middle of the box and I watch as she bends down to the floor with her hand clasped to her mouth.
"Are you joking?" Her eyes glance up at me with admiration, "Lils" her voice goes soft as she speaks while I feel tears well up in my eyes. I don't have words, I simply shake my head at her.
"Oh my god" she stands jumping up ecstatically and enclosing me into her arms, "Lily" her words breathless with excitement.
It was a reaction I never expected. Olive and I could be goofy but usually when it was serious, so was she. I expected a scolding and such, but instead she stood in front of me delighted. And she proceeds to do something even crazier.
She turns to Hayes and opens her arms, "Come on you knew this day would come where you have to hug me" He rolls his eyes and pulls her into a hug. She pats his back with a smile and steps back.
"Holy shit, Lily you are going-" she stops taking a deep breath collecting herself "You are going to be the most wonderful mother" her eyes are brought to tears again and she stares back into the box.
"Why did you put your pee stick in my box of donuts, I think 'I'm pregnant' written out would have sufficed?" I lift the stick to show the blank unused stick.
