- "GRACIE ARE YOU SERIOUSLY THAT NERVOUS?" ivy asked, having to deal with the girl annoyingly tap on the back of her seat to the beat of the song that was playing on the radio.
the three of them came straight to the beach right after their shift at panera. jackson and ivy were over enthusiastic when they figured out matt had invited gracie and them to the beach with his friends.
mainly because they saw that grace was slowly growing an even bigger crush on the kid. it could seem dramatic but they never saw grace put herself out there, so they were just happy that this kid was putting a smile on her face.
matt and grace had been constantly texting since they exchanged numbers. on and off about things from their favorite songs to what their biggest pet peeves were. matt was being caught in car videos smiling down at his phone when he got a text from her and gracie was actually keeping her phone at the register with her. (despite it being against the rules and she was always hiding it from her general manager).
jackson didn't care though, all the others who worked there suddenly had a say and were complaining about it. grace didn't care, she felt like she was actually living like a normal girl in the last year of her teens, rather than doing nothing with her life besides work and family commitments.
chris and nick were growing annoyed with the constant need matt had to check his phone every three seconds. especially when they were in meetings or filming a video. but they saw how the moment he recognized the contact he'd smile softly, and when it wasn't her he'd deflate slightly.
they thought it was good that matt was finding someone, or at least putting himself out there without a worry. he usually was so anxious to do things but it seemed to them that with gracie it was easy and not worrisome for him.
"i'm not nervous." she scoffed and looked up to see jackson meeting her eyes through the rear view mirror. he raised his eyebrow, calling her out on her bullshit and she huffed, running her hand over her face. "okay i'm totally nervous- but in my defense, i don't know how to act around a guy and i'm scared i'm going to say something stupid."
"you're not going to something stupid." ivy tried to reassure the girl and jackson snorted.
"no vee be honest here, she's going to end up saying something stupid. the only difference is that all those stupid things sound cute coming out of your mouth because you're pretty." he reminded her and ivy put her hand out to do the little handshake the three of them did when they agreed with something or just saw each other in general.
"you think i'm pretty." she joked scrunching up her face and reaching over the seat to ruffle his hair.
"grace shut the fuck up- this is what i get for helping you. now i hope you say something stupid and embarrass yourself." he rolled his eyes and she just blinked at him before turning to face ivy, even though the girl couldn't see her.
