Chapter 40

📱-"What... I'm eating and you're interfering" said Brick.

📱- "Then why are you calling?" Brick asked again.

📱-("Am I disturbing your mealtime? Or are you staying with Ai'Day and afraid he'll find out?") Pete pretended to ask and Brick froze.

📱-"If you have something to say, hurry up and say it" said Brick dryly, he doesn't like to be treated like that.

📱-("No, nothing, I just miss you. I chose this time to not call at night because I know Day sleeps next to you, it's like I'm secretly having an affair with a villager's wife") Pete joked leaving Brick angry.

📱-"Wife? If you called to bother me, I'll hang up" Brick said back.

📱-("Oh, I won't bother you. Are you free tonight?" Pete asked.

📱-"Why do you ask?" Brick asked back, but didn't say where he was.

📱-("I'll buy you something to eat") said Pete again.

📱-"I didn't go to class, I'm out of the capital" said Brick.

📱-("Which province? Did you go with Ai'Day?") Pete asked again.

📱-"Hum, I came with him, he came to have a look at the store and brought me" Brick said again.

📱-("Did you go meet your in-laws?") Pete asked in a calm voice.

📱-"What the hell is that?" Brick scolded him
in an irritated tone.

📱-("Hey, I'm just kidding. The reason I called is I just wanted to hear your voice") Pete said in a serious tone, Brick was silent.

📱-("I'm glad it was you called me back, at least you care about me") Pete said with a soft laugh at the end.

📱-"What the hell? If there's nothing urgent, I'll hang up. I have other things to do" said Brick.

📱-("Okay, just hearing your voice makes me happy. Hold on, I'll call you back. Bye, honey") Pete said before hanging up. Brick sat up and looked at the phone.

"Honey, my ass!! This asshole is making me more and more nervous" Brick muttered, before deleting Pete's number to prevent Day from checking. Brick looked at himself in the bathroom mirror for a moment before opening the door.

Suddenly...,the slender figure almost instantly turned pale when he saw Day, smoking, leaning against the wall opposite the bathroom door.

"Uh..., what are you doing there quietly? It's scary" Brick said in a normal tone before pretending to walk away from the bathroom.

"Stop right there," Day said quietly, making Brick's feet freeze, the slender figure felt like a person who made a mistake and got caught, his hands are all cold and sweaty.

"Ah..., I think I'll go down and eat some cake, let's go down and talk" said Brick turning around, Day walked towards him. The slender figure could not move her legs.

"Who were you talking with?" Day asked briefly looking at Brick who swallowed hard.

"What are you talking about?" Brick didn't know what to do.

"Who were you on the phone with in the bathroom?" Day asked coldly and Brick moved slowly as Day approached.

"Ah...um...I was talking to Ai'Nick! Well, I called him to ask about his studies" Brick said seeing Day's hand in front of him.

"What?" Brick asked.

"Give me your number," Day said.

"Why would you want to? I was just calling to speak with Ai'Nick" Brick roared.
