The weekend passed, and it's Monday again. That's how long it took for those who shared our promotion. And that made our dean happy. I actually expected that outcome knowing that I'm working with Lens very professional w, when it comes to these things.
This week is the elimination round, so me and my bandmates got busy again because we have a different song to sing for the elimination. We really save the best for last.
"I don't know if I'm just imagining it, but the judge really looked at me differently earlier during the Ms. Intramurination," Lexi said flirtatiously.
"That's a benefit, so you should go for it," Jeisha said.
"I'm not that flirtatious!" she shouted at her friend. Our teasing stopped when some of our classmates arrived.
Sahara was among them...
"Ellera," she called me. I got nervous from her very serious stare.
What's going on?!
"Can we talk?" she signaled for us to go outside, so I immediately stood up.
"Do you have a concern or suggestion about our plan?" I asked as we stepped out into the hallway. She shook her head and swallowed before speaking.
"Why didn't you tell me that you did a cover song with Lennon?" she said. I could feel from her tone and face that she was sad and angry at me.
"I don't want to sound like a bitch, but I didn't think of that because I don't see a reason why I'm obliged to tell you my plans," I answered.
"But I thought we were friends... You know I like him... Now everybody thinks something's going on between you two... Wait, is there??"
"Did you beg him to do a cover song with you? That's how low you are?" she added and laughed sarcastically at me.
"No, the Dean wanted the two of us to do that. In fact, he wants us to perform again on the main day of the intHeI clarified.
I didn't think she would get jealous of me and Lennon over a song — how did I not think about her feelings? I'm such a bad friend!
"And you're going to do it?" she asked and I nodded.
"That might even be the reason I'll fail if I do n,'t follow our Dean's request. I'm sure if you were in my shoes, you'd do the same," I smiled at her and then went back inside the room.
"What's happening?" Lexi immediately asked and looked outside. I could see the annoyed look on her face toward Sahara.
"Sahara's jealous of me and Lennon," I briefly explained.
"You're gonna make it, girl! The it girl!"
"I don't know what I feel right now. I don't want Sahara to be jealous of me, but at the same time, what does she care about what I do with my life?"
I don't want to be manipulated. I don't want to get played.
"Savage! You got it from me, girl," Jeisha said.
"But I know I was a bitch about that... I should've told her. She likes Lennon..." I added.
"Are you going to back out from performing with him in the final round?" Lexi asked andoffof my head.
"I'll just help Sahara have closure with Lennon... They were close before; I just need to bring back their spark."
"Is that your obligation?" Jeisha asked sharply.
"And how exactly will you do that?" Lexi said in one breath.
"I'll close things with Lennon. Then I'll bring Sahara into every topic," I answered them but also questioned myself if what I'm doing is right.
