It was a very tiring phase of our life, and a week of rest felt like a lifetime vacatlivesfor us. We all went back to Deliciae just to sleep the entire day. After that, we ran some errands we couldn't do while we were out of the city.
I even managed to reject a few offers from my manager because I really couldn't work during the one-week break we were given.
I went to a spa alone and got a full-body massage—I felt like I needed it, so I treated myself. I also went to a salon because I felt like I looked totally haggard. I bought some clothes and things I thought I'd be needing soon.
At last, I came home to the condo and found Lennon setting the table for dinner. He had cooked.
"Wow, what is it?" I asked him with a smile and placed my paper bags on the floor.
"Pork Adobo. I missed it," he replied. The smell of the sauce filled the whole place, which was perfect since I hadn't eaten anything since I woke up.
Nothing beats homemade food.
"Where's the rice?" I asked when I noticed it wasn't on the table. He went back to the kitchen to get it, but—
"Oh shit, I forgot to press the rice cooker! Damn it." I laughed out loud at what he said, especially when I saw his face.
"It's okay, we can wait," I reassured him and sat on the sofa to watch TV. He sat beside me and put his arm around me.
"You wanna watch us play basketball tomorrow?" he suddenly asked, and I frowned.
"Who are you playing with?" I asked in return.
"The boys," he replied briefly.
"Yeah sure, where?" I just remembered—the last time I watched them play was probably back in senior high. And I have to say, I missed those days.
"Here. There's a court in this building." My eyes widened. After months of living here, I just found out there's a basketball court in the building?!
We watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S on Netflix while waiting for the rice to cook. It's one of our favorite shows, and we just laughed, forgetting everything else.
The next day, I woke up alone in bed. But before I could panic, I saw Lennon's message on my phone saying they were at the court, so I quickly dressed and went down.
When I entered, I didn't expect so many people were watching too—and it wasn't just Raven with Lennon. News probably spread around the building that they were playing, so a crowd had gathered. Even when I arrived, many people greeted me.
"Oh my god! It's Roella!" some shouted.
"Hi... how are you," I greeted them shyly and went straight to the se?ts near Lennon.
"Dude, it's boss," Magnus teased Lennon, pointing at me.
I saw Lennon's face go from a frown to a big smile the moment he saw me. He quickly came over.
"Sorry I didn't wake you. You looked like you were having the best sleep ever," he said as he approached me.
"It's okay. Just don't do it again... I almost panicked," I laughed at the end, and he made a silly face.
"I thought you were only playing with the boys?" I asked.
"They wanted to join—we couldn't say no. Besides, it's more fun this way. It's going to be a legit match," he grinned.
"I brought water and a towel, okay?" He nodded like a little kid and went back to the court.
The game started and it was going well. It was fun watching him have fun. And his aura still surprised me—I felt a slow-mo connection with him while he ran after the ball.
