You always told me no one could love me like you did.
But darling, be honest.
Was I really what you wanted?
Did you mean that last kiss?
You promised me that night,
When you held me in your arms.
It'd all be okay, it'd be alright,
You'd protect me from all of the scars.
Our fingers fit together like a glove,
You calmed me when I would start to shake.
You calmed me with your love.
You picked up the pieces when I'd start to break.
But darling, your love still cuts me open.
Your words pierced my heart,
It's bleeding, it's broken.
It's been torn apart.
You had me in the palm of your hand.
You'd open your mouth and I'd cave in.
But now you're slipping through my fingers like sand,
Leaving me with nothin'.
Baby, your words cut me apart.
But I can't help wanting more.
Baby, take a knife to my heart,
Show me you're worth dying for.
Breathe me in, baby, inhale.
Bite my lip and say my name.
My heart isn't for sale,
It's yours, all the same.
Cut me open with your lies.
Tell me you need me, tell me you're mine.
Tell me how your heart dies,
Tell me it'll be just fine.
Baby, just tell me you're mine.
