I've been laying awake for a while now.
Bloodshot eyes, too dry to shed a tear.
Staring at the ceiling as it crashes down,
Crushing my mind and deafening my ears.
Never thought I'd lose so much sleep over you.
We both agreed it didn't mean a thing.
I see stars in your eyes, a stunning green blue.
They've just tugged at my heartstrings.
Drown me in the ocean of your eyes,
as we make love in your bedroom.
I can handle another sleepless night,
If I can spend it with you.
But as we all know,
I'll be awake and alone tonight.
Cause that's just how it goes.
We can't make things right.
I can't change the way you feel.
I'll never mean much more to you.
The love I thought we had, it wasn't real.
I said I'd never love you, that wasn't true.
I'm losing sleep, thinking about you.
How I can't live without you.
But I know you can live without me.
You'll still be the same old Jeremy.
Play me a song on your beautiful guitar,
Let me see the galaxies in your eyes.
Sing the words right through my heart.
Tell me you see stars in mine.
I can't keep losing sleep.
It's got me too weak inside.
The cuts are just too deep.
My love for you's yours to keep...
To keep alive.
