Chapter 5

A few days later, Wei Ying was allowed to leave the infirmary with the promise to come for a weekly visit from him and Lan Zhan. Lan Qiren promised to bring the two boys personally. They left and made their way towards the Lanshi where Wei Ying would be living with Lan Qiren. As soon as they left healer Lan Yi ,send one of her helpers to fetch parchment an ink brush and ink.

When the helper came back ,she excused herself, telling him just to call if there was an emergency. She went to the back room, readying herself at the low table with some tea. She has decided that as of today, she would document anything that happened between the two masters. During her examination, she felt it even though she's still not sure what it was, but she felt a slightly different energy inside them. So she would write everything down no matter how insignificant it might be. She is still trying to get her head around the way the second young master reacted towards them.

She knows an alpha would protect their omega if such omega are in danger once they are bonded, but this was absolutely not the case, and yet he was ready to attack them. Another thing she needs to look into. She doesn't even know if she would find the answers, but it's worth the try.

Lan Qiren started to teach Wei Ying how to read and write. The characters of his name. Wei Ying was a bright boy. He picked things up quickly. Lan Qiren was very pleased with him. Lan Zhan, for his punishment, had to copy the rules of conduct three times. Wei Ying not soon enough started to join the classes which he enjoy very much. His and Lan Zhan's friendship grew stronger after Lan Zhan's punishment was finished.

Where the one went, the other was not far behind. On Wei Ying's twelve birthday, he got his naming ceremony where he got officially being adopted as Lan Qirens ward. His name was changed from Wei Ying to Lan Ying. His courtesy name is Lan Wuxian. He received his forehead ribbon that signifies him as part of the Lan family and the Lan Sect. He got his sword, which he named subian. Lan Qiren told him the meaning of the ribbon. That only family and his significant other could touch it. Through it all, A-Ying had a big smile on his face. He was so happy.

Xichen was so happy. He got two brothers now, which he will protect with his life. He knows there is nothing he wouldn't do for them. A-Ying had come a long way from where he'd been. He looks at the two sitting next to each other while they're having their celebration meal. A-Ying had started to grow into his body as have Wangji.

He doesn't know if his uncle or the others could see, but there is a different aura around the two. It's like the older they got, the more they change. Wangji's honey eyes would sometimes shine like the blazing sun, and A-Ying's silver grey orbs sometimes seem as if there is a red hue to it. Maybe it's just his imagination, but he doesn't believe that it is.

The few times he went with them to Caiyi town, he could swear that the people were silently worshipping them. They would keep their heads bowed when they walked past. He does not know what's going on. Maybe he is just imagining things.

Lan Qiren at last feels content. He finally can give the boy a safe place and space. Looking at A-Ying, he couldn't help but smile. He hopes and prays that Cangse and Changze are pleased with him. They've been sheltering A-Ying from the outside world, and he knows they won't be able to do it forever.

He knows his nephew got feelings for A-Ying, but he won't force them to be together if A-Ying doesn't feel the same. Even though it would break his nephew's heart if A-Ying doesn't feel the same but he will not force them to be together and in the process, making  the one happy while the other is miserable. Let's see how things progress, he thought maybe in time. A-Ying would return his nephews feelings. Nodding his head to himself, he picks up his tea and sips slowly.

A-Ying vibrates with happiness. Finally, he got a family who loves and accepts him for who he is. He wondered if Lan Zhan felt the same. He really hopes he does. Lan Zhan will always be his first friend. He may be young, probably too young, but he knows that his feelings for Lan Zhan are more than friendship. He turned his head to look at Lan Zhan, giving him an ear to ear smile when he found him already looking at him.

If A-Ying just knows what that smile is doing to him, he would not smile so brightly. Lan Zhan knows that A-Ying is his. There will never be another omega for him. Maybe he should make his intentions clear to him. The only thing that he could say is that he isn't interested. It will hurt, but he will respect his wishes and continue being his friend.

The celebration ended, and everyone went their separate ways. A-Ying and Lan Zhan made their way to the back hills. A-Ying gifted him two bunnies, a white one and a black one a few weeks ago. They called them Ying Ying and yangyang. Uncle said they could keep them as long as they looked after them themselves, and as long as their feeding time doesn't interfere with their studies.

As soon as they reach their destination. They sat down as yingying, and yangyang made their way over to them. They picked them up gently as soon as the two were in front of them. Patting them and sat them on their laps while taking out some carrots for the two. Feeding them patiently. They sat in absolute silence. Nobody's ready to break the silence between them. A-Ying biting his lower lip. There is so much he wants to say, but he doesn't know how to start. Lan Zhan is having a crisis of his own. How can he tell A-Ying that he wants to be more than just friends.
In the end, after feeding the two bunnies, they got up and walked back both to coward to speak off their feelings for each other.
