Promise Me (Levi x Reader)

The Rumbling

"Levi, don't you dare." You tried to reason with him as he struggled to get out of the bed. His legs were extremely weak and it was obvious he was in no shape to be standing, let alone walking. He gave you a stern look and you knew it was no use. "Let me at least-" You moved to help him out of the bed but he was quick to shrug your hand off when you tried to help him. It took him a while to get out of the bed as his legs were buckling and giving out underneath them.
You felt helpless as you just stood there, and watched him slowly make his way towards the door, holding onto anything that he could get his hands on. As he made his way out of the room, you followed close behind him, making sure that he didn't take a tumble. You could spot Armin just in the hallway as Levi started to head towards the stairs. "This is crazy you should still be in bed." Armin said, obviously worried for the captain.
Armin looked at you for some help as he tried to urge Levi to get back in bed. You just shook your head, knowing it was no use. "Stay in bed? If I lie down any longer, you were going to start to forget all about me." Levi focused on trying to get down the stairs, grasping firmly onto the railing beside him, hunched over to the side, as his legs were too weak to hold him up straight. "And that bearded bitch who passed out after her arm was broken, is awake. I'll be damned if we don't make her tell us where Eren's going."
With one last push of strength, Levi finally made it down the stairs, and you and Armin stood back as you followed him to the room that you Lena was staying in.
"Most likely, Eren's next target is Fort Salta." Yelena sat with her head facing the floor. You calmly stood behind Levi, your hand placed on his shoulder, letting him know that you were there, but staying silent. "That is true. If he had the idea of the weapons that had the slightest chance of harming the founding titan." Pieck thought out loud, her hand to her chin as she listened to Yelena's words. "I expect that's his next step after Karifa Naval port."

"You're answering really obediently." Levi still kept his normal stoic face as he directly spoke to Yelena. "I have a request for all of you. Please acknowledge something.The only solution to the two millennium, spanning Eldian problem was the euthanization plan. I'm sure you can see that in the wake of this disaster."
Hange spoke next, their face somber as they faced away from the group. "I'll admit it I wasn't able to show Eren a solution or hope or a future."

It didn't take a long time for everybody to get the flying boat ready to depart. Off in the distance you could see Nico and Rose both helping with the flying boat's repairs and fueling. You stood right next to Levi as he sat down on a box, still bandaged up and tired from the day before. Onyankopon called to Hange. "We are almost ready to go!" Hange looked at you all you heard the man start checking your gear. You begin to check your gear but noticed Levi struggling, his fingers wrapped around the triggers of his ODM gear. Two of his fingers were gone from the blast. His index and middle finger with both gone replaced by a thick bandage. He pressed down on the trigger with his ring finger firmly grasping the handle with his thumb and pinky, you all watched as he tried to find the proper way to hold it. "Two fingers is all I need, I'm ready." Levi looked up, giving you a confident look. You could tell he was tired and hurting, but you also knew that there was no way he would sit out.

As you all got ready to leave, you said it looked back at the one person who will be remaining, Annie. "Annie, take care!" You all waved at her, and you gave her a small grin. She looked at the group before slowly walking away. "To be honest I was relying on her." You could hear a Jean say, as he looked at Levi for his reaction of course, there was nothing from him and you were never close to Annie. "Are you sure you two want to come with us? Assuming the rumbling stops the citizens won't find themselves in a great position." Hange said as Reiner and Pieck came up to her. You begin to listen in and Pieck replied. "I hate to admit it, but you were right Hange general Magath was leaving us a final order, to work together and to do what needs to be done."
