Chapter 49

GREGOR AND KRISOSTOMO Felan left the country the day after my visit to them. I was told that they left because of some emergency that they needed to sort out in their hometown, but my mind was already assuming that it was me who scared them away.

Siyempre naman! Now that they became aware of my existence in Aniel's life, I'm sure hindi na sila makakahanap pa ng rason para i-bully ang kapatid nila.

And speaking of harap-harapan, I was currently sitting on one of the fancy chairs of Kupid's Arrow while waiting for Victorina Felan to arrive. She contacted me last night and asked me if we could meet up. Besides, I don't have the same heavy feeling about Victorina as her twin brothers. She's sophisticated, looking a little strict, but she doesn't look like she can do evil.

Oh, well. Looks can be deceiving. Who knows what's under her sleeves?

She was wearing a black Chanel coordinates and high heels. Her hair was in an elegant bun, expressing her slender neck and jawline. Warm smile immediately coated her lips when she spotted me from the hushed crowd of the restaurant.

"Nemesis Salvacion," she said my full name upon arriving at our table. "Thank you so much for accepting my request to meet."

"Uhm, it's my pleasure... I guess?" I replied, unsure.

She smiled at me before taking a seat. "Have you checked their menu already? What do you want? It's on me."

I forced myself not to grimace. "I'm a regular here. I almost know all their foods."

She beamed. "Then maybe you can recommend me something. What's their specialty?"

I took a deep breath before answering. I cannot believe I am having a friendly conversation with Aniel's adoptive sister. But based on how she's talking to me, offering me something to eat, mukha naman yatang malayo ang ugali niya doon sa kambal.

But then again, it could just be an act to deceive me. After what has happened, nawalan na ako ng tiwala pa sa mga Felan. It also affected my trust on Aniel. He knew that. He knew about my struggle. And like what he just told me during our talk, he won't rush me in any way. I'm thankful that he thought that way.

My lips were parted as I watch Victorina enjoy her meal.

"Hey, eat that. You said that it's one of your favorites," puna niya nang mapansin niyang nakatitig lang ako sa kanya.

I closed my lips and adjusted my ass on the chair. I cleared my throat and stare at the plate in front of me. I wasn't hungry. I'm actually bothered, and my mind was full of questions only this woman in front of me could answer.

"Uhm..." I cleared my throat again. "Actually, Miss Felan—"

She gracefully raised her brows at me. "Please, just call me Victorina. It's not like we have a huge age gap."

I smiled firmly. "So, Victorina... about this meeting-"

"Let's eat first, shall we?" she said and I couldn't say no.
