Thirty Nine

"Are you sure you're going to be alright?" Mom asks me as we stand outside of Halley's hospital room. She has to go back to the house and check up on Dad, who claims that he is lost without her. Finneas offered to stay with me but I told him that I would be fine.

"I will be fine mom" I tell her for the millionth time and she nods her head before hugging me. "Make sure you call me" She tells me and I smile, nodding my head.

"I will now go before it gets dark" I tell her and she smiles at me. I watch as she leaves before sighing deeply.

This is the first time I have been alone in the last twenty four hours. I find myself sinking to the floor. My back pressed against the wall behind me as I start to breathe heavily.

My eyes find Halley's unmoving body and I instantly fall to my knees beside her. "No no no Halley!" I scream as tears welled up in my eyes. I quickly grabbed Halley's head, pulling her into my lap. "Halley wake up!" I plead, choking back a sob as I look at her bleeding face.

"Someone help her!" I scream as I look at the crowd who just watched us in shock. I look down at Halley and shake my head as I sob violently.

"Please baby wake up" I cry as I lean down kissing her forehead. "Don't leave me Halley Comet."

"Ma'am are you alright?" I look up to see a nurse kneeling down in front of me, her face full of concern. I quickly clear my throat and nod my head.

"I'm fine thank you" I tell her and stand up with her help. She studies me for a moment before nodding her head and walks away. Turning to Halley's room, I step inside and close the door behind me.

She's still asleep but the doctor said that her body just needs rest so I'm not panicking. I walk over to her and sit down beside her with a small sigh. "I'm going to need you to wake up soon and get better because these hospital chairs are uncomfortable as fuck and hospital food freaking sucks yo" I yawn as I speak and groan lowly.

I haven't slept since Halley got admitted and I don't think I can honestly.

My phone dings and I pull it out my pocket to see Finneas texted me. You might want to see this he says before sending me a link to an instagram post.

The shaderoom found out about Halley and they have a video of me screaming for her to wake up. "You got to be fucking kidding me" I watch the video and frown noticing they censored Halley's injuries and the post was mainly focused on me rather than her wellbeing. Going to the comments, I smile as I read my fan's comments.

I yawn once more as I continue to read the comments. Feeling my tiredness finally hitting me, I put my phone back in my pocket and stand up. I kiss Halley's forehead and sat down in the recliner chair in a corner of the room. Grabbing the blanket my mom bought me, I close my eyes as I feel more tired than ever.

I'm woken out of my seat by someone yelling out "FUCK" and immediately spring to my feet. "W-What what happened" I quickly say, still a little out of it. I look to the side and see Halley laying on the floor making me rush to her.

"Halley what the hell are you okay? Why are you out of—YOU'RE AWAKE" Dropping to my knees, I quickly hug her making her chuckle before wincing lowly. "Oh my god baby I'm so sorry"

She shakes her head when I pull away and immediately pulls me back into her arms. "Hey mama I missed you" she says making me laugh as my eyes prick with tears. She adjusts her hearing aids and smiles at me. "Where did you find my hearing aids by the way?" She asks me and I chuckle.

"The bathroom. They fell near the toilet. Iris is actually the one who found them. She brought them to here earlier so I just sat them next to your bed for when you woke up." I tell her making her laugh and nod.

"Why are you out of bed?" I then ask her and she sighs.

"I wanted you next to me." She mumbles in a soft voice. I immediately smile and slightly blush as my heart melts at her words. Standing up, I help her to her feet carefully before getting her back into bed.

"You're so adorable Ms.Comet" I mutter making her playfully glare at me. "I'm so happy you're okay" I then say and she pats the space next to her, inviting me into the small twin bed.

"Baby this bed isn't built for both of—" I was cut off by Halley grabbing me and pulling me down beside her. I playfully glare at her and she kisses my forehead.

"I love you" she whispers to me and I smile over at her. "I love you so much." Halley places kisses all over my face making me laugh as I try to pull away.

A knock sounds on the door and I quickly sit up as a doctor opens the door, peeking his head in. "Ah! I see we're awake" He says and I clear my throat, getting off the bed.

Halley just stares at him before looking over at me. "You look familiar" She says to him making him chuckle as he looks through the papers on his cupboard.

"I think you will recognize my car before me." He says and I look at him confused as I sit down beside the bed.

Halley thinks for a moment before her eyes widened and her heart monitor starts beating rapidly. "You're the guy that hit me!" She yells causing my eyes to widen
