SHORT CHAPTER
January 23
San Diego, California

"Iris!" I hurry hug my best friend who laughs wholeheartedly as she hugs me back. "I missed you best!"

"Do you have always have to hug me like you haven't seen me in years?" Iris jokes as we pull away making me shrug my shoulders with a smile.

"Because I be missing you!"

She playfully rolls her eyes at me before turning to Billie who was watching the interaction with a smile. "Hey Bil" She hugs her and side eyes me. "Get your girlfriend."

"Hey!"

Billie laughs and walks into my arms. "You know she has some separation anxiety" I quickly look at her and she sends me a bright smile. "It's okay to admit it baby"

"I don't have separation anxiety!" I argue and frown deeply as Billie and Iris share a look. "I don't!"

"You do with hellfire" Billie says making me stutter over my words. The both of them give me a knowing look and I glare at them.

Of course I do that's my baby

"No I don't!"

"You do." Iris cut in and walked further inside, setting her bag down in the living room. "It's okay best. Everyone has a little separation anxiety to something or someone."

I huff and cross my arms over my chest. "What do I have separation anxiety for?" I ask making the two of them to share another look.

Imma need them to stop commutating with their eyes and just spit it out.

"I-I think I hear my boyfriend calling me." Iris says grabbing her phone and exiting the living room rather quickly. I glare at her back as she puts her phone to her ear, pretending to answer her phone.

"Pussy!"

I turn to Billie awaiting an answer when all she does is look at me and smile. "Hi baby" She says in a soft voice as she leans forward to peck my lips.

"You guys are mean" I mumble, escaping her grasp. I walk into the kitchen with Billie following behind me with a pout.

"Baby we're aren't trying to hurt your feelings. W-We just" She pauses and sighs. I shake my head and turn to her as she leans her back against the kitchen counter. "How about we just put a pin in this conversation?"

"Fine" I shrug my shoulders and wash my hands. Billie pulls me in her arms as she sits on the bar stool. I try to pull out of her grasp but she tightens it and sends me an apologetic smile.

"You know we both love you." She mutters to me before pecking my lips. I roll my eyes making her peck my lips again. "Say ittt" She drags on with that angel sent smile of hers making me huff.

"I love you" I tell her sending a small smile before hers widen even more.

Billie sits in my lap as she talks to Claudia about her new song she's working on. "I don't know what direction it's going yet but I'm excited." She gushes with a huge smile just as Finneas walks in the room.

"A new song? I didn't know you were working on a new song." He says confused making her shrug her shoulders.

"It's a duet" She tells me and now all three of us are looking at her confused.

"A duet with who?" Claudia asks and I nod my head, wondering the same thing.

Taking a sip of my coke, I sip it out a second later after hearing Billie's response. "with Halley." Coughing violently, Billie turns in my lap and pats my back as she laughs.

"W-What did y-you j-just say?" I ask her between coughs as I try to regain my strength.

"I want to make a song with you." She then says and I instantly shake my head no. "Finneas will help of course but I want to make something with you."

"Why?" Billie looks a little taken back at the slight anger in my tone when I ask but she can't blame me. She couldn't talk to me about this before just springing this on me now.

I don't sing. I did it for a few shows on her tour but that's it. I'm not a singer and I don't want to be.

"I thought it could be fun for us"

I shake my head and decide to remain silent. Billie looks away from me and sighs lightly. Out the corner of my eye, I could see Finneas and Claudia sharing a glance before they both excuse themselves.

Billie gets off my lap and turns to me fully. "What's wrong?" She asks me and I just shrug my shoulders in response.

"I just wished you asked me before writing the song" I tell her and she sighs. "I'm not a singer Bil."

"I'm not saying you have to be a singer now. I just wanted to make at least one song with you." I open my mouth response but she cuts me off. "You have a beautiful voice Halley and it's obvious that I'm not the only one who thinks so."

"Just—" She pauses and grabs my hand. "Just let me show you the song. At least try to think about it."

I stare at her for a moment before sighing. "Okay" was my response, resulting in Billie hugging me quickly as she grins happily.
