Christmastime at Hogwarts was always a sight to behold

Christmastime at Hogwarts was always a sight to behold. Every hallway was decorated with garlands and wreaths and the Great Hall had four giant Christmas trees, each one decorated with one of the houses' respective colours.

As Reyna strolls along the outdoor corridor, she is protected by the enchantment that repels the snow from entering. The witch is suddenly overcome with an indescribable feeling as she gazes upon the magnificent snowflakes descending from the sky. Her eyes appear entranced, almost as if lost in a trance. She extends her arm, letting the snowflakes settle on her palm and wrist. The searing pain doesn't seem to register as welts form on her skin. A hand yanking her backwards snaps her back to reality and the witch blinks as the pain finally registers.

"Shit!"

"What were you thinking?" George snaps, inspecting the burns on her hand and arm.

"I- I don't know what happened," Reyna replies. "I just remember watching the snow and-"

George places his hand on the right side of Reyna's neck, the rune on her skin begins to glow gold and they watch the burns fade away to reveal smooth skin again.

"Let's go inside," George says and Reyna nods, allowing the wizard to lead her inside.

Reyna cradles her hot chocolate as she and George sit together in the kitchens. At that current moment, George was using his wand to attempt to melt marshmallows and was failing miserably. The smell of burning sugar was filling the air and Reyna rolls her eyes before grabbing a marshmallow, her eyes flickering orange as she blows on the small object which turned a light brown colour before she places it on one of the biscuits George had prepared to make s'mores with.

George rolls his sleeves up as he picks up his s'more and Reyna's eyes lock onto a scar that marred his left forearm. The reminder of the start of their rivalry was staring at Reyna as guilt fills the witch's entire being.

During their third year, George made an effort to assist Reyna who was experiencing difficulties in managing the fiery element that consumed her. Reyna imposed a vow of secrecy upon George, threatening to expose him to the scorching flames if he disclosed her situation to anyone. This led to a bitter rivalry between the two, with George feeling resentful that Reyna doubted his loyalty, and Reyna being deeply afraid that her secret would be revealed.

"I would have never told anyone," George says.

"I know," Reyna sighs. "But I was scared"

"Why were you scared?"

"When you're different, you are either used as a weapon or locked up," Reyna picks at her nails as she speaks. "People don't like things they can't control, seeing as I'm not one to be told what to do-"

"You were scared you'd get locked up," George finishes Reyna's sentence and the witch nods.

"If that happened my dad would be all alone," Reyna replies. "He lost my mum but she wasn't his true love"

"How do you know?"

"The way he talks about her," Reyna replies. "He loved someone else and I have my suspicions about who"

"Shaggy?" George asks and Reyna laughs lightly before nodding.

"The way he speaks about him," Reyna traces her finger around the top of a mug. "It's as if he lost a piece of him that day, as much as I'd love to heal my dad, there's a hole in his heart that a child can't fill"

"Sounds like an epic romance novel," George comments. "Not that I've ever read one"

"Did you expect me to be shocked at that news?" Reyna asks the wizard. "I was surprised you could read"

"That is below the belt," George chuckles. "As much as everyone jokes about it, Freddie and I, we're not stupid"

"I know," Reyna offers him a small smile.

"We have so much to live up to," George sighs miserably. "Bill works as a curse-breaker for Gringott's, Charlie works with dragons in Romania, Percy's deadset for a job in the Ministry. All three of them were prefects. Percy and Bill, both headboys. Charlie was Quidditch Captain. Ginny's the only girl and Ron's friends with the Harry Potter. I'm pretty sure Harry is Mum's favourite child"

"What do you want to do?" Reyna asks the wizard. "Not what your mum wants you to do, what do you want to do?"

"Fred and I want to open a joke shop," George shrugs. "But we'll never have the money to do so"

"My mum left me a small fortune," Reyna shrugs. "If you ever get the funds and want an investor, I'll give your business plan a look"

"Do you mean it?"

"We're destined to be one, Weasley," Reyna replies. "I'm sure that means at some point our bank accounts shall become one"

"If you've got a small fortune I sure hope so,"
