"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

As Reyna slowly awakens, she notices the soft, curly-haired man standing beside her bed, his face alight with joy. In his hands, he holds a cake, adorned with two candles - one shaped like a '1', and the other a '6'. As her eyes adjust to the light, Reyna can't help but smile at the sight before her. The man, Sirius, leans in, offering her the cake with a gentle smile. Reyna leans forward, her breath extinguishing the dancing flames upon the candles. Sirius cheers, his eyes sparkling with delight.

"Thank you," Reyna smiles.

"Today is your day," The man beams. "What do you want to do?"

"Can you tell me about my mum?" Reyna asks and Sirius whitens at her words. "What she was like at school, Dumbledore told me she was kind. I just want to have an image in my mind of her when she was good"

"Your mum was a good soul before she started mixing with Bellatrix," Sirius tells the girl. "Her family were part of the Sacred Twenty-Eight just like mine but for most of her life, she disagreed with their views on blood purity. That was until Bellatrix began to preach her elitist propaganda about how magic was a gift that should only be bestowed upon those who were anointed and lucky enough to be pureblooded and purebred"

"I'm told I look like her," Reyn tells the man who nods.

"You do," The man informs her. "But that doesn't mean you are her. The only thing you got, besides your looks, is her temper. Every other part of you, your empathy, your kindness. All of that is Remus"

"Has he-"

"No, I'm sorry, biscuit," Sirius shakes his head.

"I don't know why I got my hopes up," Reyna shakes her head. "It's not like he's contacted me at all this summer. But today, I don't want to think about that"

"Positivity only today," Sirius affirms. "So what do you want to do?"

"Can we keep tending to the garden?"

Upon Reyna and Sirius' arrival at 13 Grimmauld Place, the garden was a pitiful sight to behold. However, over the course of the past month, they had been diligently tending to the garden, meticulously removing the weeds and carefully cultivating a selection of both beautiful and practical plants. The once dreary garden has been transformed into a vibrant oasis, with a variety of roses, tulips, and daffodils breathing new life into the previously desolate surroundings.

"Do you want to build the pergola today?" Sirius asks the witch who nods with a smile.

Reyna pulls out a box of tools that Sirius had stolen from the muggles that lived in the house next to them. The pair had cultivated the entire garden without the use of magic and they intended to build the small structure without the help of magic.

"Let's get cracking," Sirius states.

The atmosphere in the garden was filled with laughter and merriment, as Reyna and Sirius engaged in a playful exchange of jokes and quips as they worked. The lush garden, which had been meticulously tended to, was a testament to the beauty and bounty of nature. Much like how the plants and flowers had bloomed in vibrant hues, so had the relationship between Reyna and Sirius.

For Sirius, Reyna was a light that filled a part of his heart which had been left hollow after losing his chosen family over a decade ago. She had become more than just a companion; she was like family to him, providing him with the love and support that he had longed for since his incarceration. Despite his unrelenting love for Reyna's father, Sirius was content with having a piece of him, in the form of Reyna, in his life, loving the girl as though she were his own.

"It looks amazing," Reyna stares at the product of their hard work.

Before their eyes, stood a structure that flawlessly bought together the beauty of the entire garden. The structure was supported by four sturdy, finely crafted pillars that held up a wooden slatted roof. Each pillar was adorned with simple cream curtains that could be drawn for privacy, adding a touch of elegance to the design. The interior of the structure featured matching cream cushioned seats that were incredibly comfortable. A small table placed at the centre completed the luxurious setup, making it the perfect spot for relaxation and enjoyment.

The pair had utilized only two bits of magic, executed by Kreacher, the Black family house-elf. He had cast an enchantment over the entire garden, safeguarding it and enabling it to bloom continuously throughout the year. In addition, the house-elf had charmed the watering cans to automatically water the plants, guaranteeing their prosperity all year long.

"We did a good job biscuit,"

"That we did,"

"I know being inside all the time isn't what you wanted for your birthday-"

"It's more than enough," Reyna stops the man in his sentence. "This has to be one of the best birthdays I've had"

"Love you, kid,"

"Love you too, old man"

"I'm thirty-four!"

"Sorry, I meant ancient man,"

"You're a little shit,"

"You're a little shit,"
