Your POV
"Miss L/n? Are you alright?"
"Hm?" I looked up from my paperwork and removed my reading glasses before smiling, "Oh, I'm alright, thank you. Did you need something?"
My receptionist nods. She pulls up her phone and says, "Y-You have a meeting with Mr. Sakamaki and his brothers later this afternoon. After that, you're expected to receive a call from a few members from the media about your previous case that happened eight years ago. They want to schedule an interview with you."
I sighed and gave her an approving nod, "Thank you, Yui. I'll be sure to take care of that. You're dismissed."
The blonde woman bowed respectfully before excusing herself as she left my office.
The moment that she did, I sighed again and placed my head down on my desk with a small groan, "Why am I dealing with both of these situations all in the same day..?"
After a week from my recovery, the media has been going crazy ever since my father was bailed out of prison. People were wondering who bailed him out and why. No one knows who could've done it, and many of his previous workers and friends refuse to say anything about it. Which leads to me. Many people want answers, and I still can't give them that because I have yet to know about it.
And now.. I have a meeting with Mr. Laito and his brothers. Don't get me wrong, I still don't trust them. But I believe that my father being bailed out might be one of the reasons why they scheduled to have a meeting with me so we can create a professional solution to handle this situation.
Right now, I'm still waiting for any more information about my missing mother.
A small knock was heard. My door opens to reveal my husband walking into my office with a small grin, "Tired already?"
I looked up once again and sat up straight before removing my glasses as I rubbed my temple. I smiled at him and said, "More like frustrated. You brought my favorite?"
"Of course I did." He hands me my coffee and sits down on a chair in front of my desk.
(It could be a different stress-relief drink if you want.)
"Thank you." I took a deep breath and sipped my coffee with a relaxed exhale. The warm aroma it gave always made me feel more at ease. After taking another sip, I set down my coffee and asked my husband, "You must've heard my conversation that I had with my receptionist, huh?"
He hums in response before he continues, "You're not going alone."
"Katsuki.." I went on my computer to review a few emails and documents that were sent to me before I start to reply, "You know how this works. And we can't leave this company unsupervised. My recovery was just an exception."
He clicked his tongue and said, "You know.. you're really stubborn."
"Isn't that why you're with me?" I chuckled as I typed on my computer as I didn't take notice of his small frown.
"..I'm serious, Y/n. This isn't a game" He said, "Look, this Laito-perv may have helped you with your case, but clearly, he's going to want something in exchange for that favor you asked long ago. You only became business partners because he knew that you needed help. That's why he wants to take down your old man, and he's waiting to see whether or not you can be any useful to him."
"He's not going to do anything that rash." I said before looking away from my computer to stare at him, "I know that Laito isn't exactly truthworthy, but clearly, he knows something that I don't. And I intend to find out what."
"What if that's just bait? What if he's only making you think that so he can get what he wants from you?" Bakugo continues to press on.
"Katsuki-"
