2nd POV
You stood by Bakugo with an empty expression on your face as you looked down at the very coffin being placed in its grave. Your tears were running down your face, but no sound escaped from your lips. Your body was tense. Your heart ached. Your stomach twisted. Your chest was filled with sharp pain, but you didn't care. Your mind was lost with so many emotions stirring inside you.
The sounds of your recent wailing and screaming echoed into your head as the following memories of you being on the floor within your own home were recalled.
Your husband and dear friend, Momo, were there to kneel beside you as they heard your shrieking cry of loss and sorrow.
The second you heard of your mother's death being confirmed by Bakugo, your entire world broke. Everything you knew had shattered right before your eyes. What was right felt wrong. What made sense turned into insanity.
This was hard to accept. Being the one to also plan her burial felt brutal enough as punishment while enduring the reality that you had to face, followed by the people's reaction around you.
Mina was in Kirishima's arms as she sobbed while she and everyone else wore black for the funeral. To her, she always saw your mother as a kind woman. She was like another mother to her.
Momo had her head lowered in defeat and with great shame as she didn't want to dare and look at the coffin that was being lowered six feet into the ground. No matter what, a part of her felt responsible for her death.
Jiro grits her teeth as she looks down at the coffin while Denki holds her hand for comfort. She was frustrated and angry with herself. If she had known that this cult was such a big deal, then maybe she would've paused her career and took the time to help you find your mother. But now she's gone..
You didn't sleep for the next few days. You didn't even want to eat. You had spent most of your time at home as a sobbing mess, ignoring all your calls and texts.
For Kirishima, he looked down at the coffin as one emotion played in his head while he held Mina to comfort her. Anger. It wasn't towards you. It wasn't towards Momo or your mother. It was to the cult. He wanted nothing more but to make them pay for what they did to you. The pain was inflicted, and Bakugo's anger rising made him all the more motivated to plan out a massacre.
Denki looks at Jiro and feels an overwhelming instinct of protecting her. To always be by her side. He didn't want her to be another victim for these sacrifices. He wouldn't be able to forgive himself if something happened to her. But he couldn't go with her because he knew what she would say. Follow his dreams. Not hers.
Sero looked down with furrowed brows and a small frown on his face. He then looked at you and Bakugo with worry. For the past month before this funeral, he saw the way you two were behaving at work and felt the draining tension between the two of you. Neither of you spoke as much as you liked. You never shed a smile as he never shed one of his smug and prideful expressions. He was worried. For the both of you. How will this story end now?
These demons had never felt this much emotion since they were born. Especially for the death of a human. But ever since you and your friends became a part of their lives, morals were slowly growing inside of their black hearts. At this time.. they felt human.
Many relatives and supporters attended the funeral. Many people with their flowers, cameras, and candle lights, they all mourn for your mother's death.
But you didn't want their pity. You didn't even ask for them to come. They just showed up.
It was a cloudy day that day. The sun wasn't shining down on you. The blue skies were hiding behind those thick clouds. The air felt too thin. It's almost like you couldn't breathe properly.
