Expect the Unexpected (Jemily)

Chapter 21

JJ's POV

We are meeting with Lea today about Danielle, Emily is happy about it. I am too don't get me wrong but; Danielle is just not that open with me like she is with Emily

Emily talks all about how sweet and innocent this child is around her but as soon as I'm in the room she's like a completely different person.

She wants absolutely nothing to do with me and I don't know how to get her to be open with me, I want to see the kid Emily goes on and on about but, it just doesn't seem to be happening

And to top it all off, we have to go into the office today after our meeting with Lea, none of us have left with the team yet but we told Hotch one of us would go out with the next case and I'm assuming it's going to be me

"Babe!? Come here a sec" Emily yelled throughout the house, I was trying to get dressed and changed out of my pajamas so Emily would just have to wait

"Jayje!" Emily yells again a few minutes later as I was walking out to the kitchen

"Yes?" I ask her and she just smiles at me and hands me my coffee cup that she had already made

"Oh what did you do?" I ask and she rolls her eyes

"Cant I just do something nice for my wife?" She ask and I just hum in response

"Where's Danielle?" I ask and she points to her room

"She's getting dressed" Emily tells me and I nod and watch as she finished putting breakfast out on the table and the two of us sit to wait for Danielle

"Is that all you needed? You just called for me because you made me coffee?" I ask

"We'll that and to tell you that we needed to go grocery shopping after the office" she says and I nod, we did indeed need to do that. Emily and I both hate grocery shopping, we try to go as little as possible

"Yea I know, I meant to say something but I forgot" I say and she nods just as Danielle came out of her room, she was wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants, wat too hot for that, it's almost June!

Emily must of had the same idea because she was the one who spoke up

"Do you have a t- shirt or something at least under that? It's too hot out sweetheart for you to just be wearing that" Emily says softly and Danielle nods

"I know.... I'm just cold now" she says and sits next to Emily as I was across the table from Them

"Okay" Emily says and I smile at them both

Emily has been really great with Danielle, I know losing Lily from being in our care really upset her too but she was also trying to comfort me, I like seeing this side of her

"So JJ and I need to go into work after lea leaves today, it'll probably be best for you to sit in JJs office" Emily explains and Danielle looks to her with a glare

"Can't I stay here? I promise I won't run away" she says and both Emily and I gave her a look and she groans

"Whatever" she mumbles and sighs just as someone knocked on the door

"I think it's lea... but she's a bit early" Emily says and I nod and get up to answer the door

"Hi, come in" I smile after I opened the door,

"Hi, I'm sorry I'm early" she tells me and comes in and we walk to the dining room

Danielle immediately got up and went to lea, she wrapped her arms wound her and lea kissed her head
