Expect the Unexpected (Jemily)

Chapter 5

JJs POV

We are meeting with Lily's social worker tomorrow and I know that we are both pretty nervous

We just want what's best for Lily and we both believe that her with us is that. Her birth mother is not stable enough to care for her

Obviously we don't want to keep them apart but keeping lily safe is our main priority

Anyways, that's all for tomorrow. Garcia even has a whole day planned with Derek to take Lily out and so Lily has been so excited about it

But now, were spending the day at home until tonight we're going to Rossi's for dinner, a dinner he is forcing us all to go to practically

We also decided on not telling Lily about meeting with her social worker tomorrow, it's not something we need to stress her out about, when the time comes, she'll be the first to know anyway

"Momma! Look what me and mommy Emmy made!" Lily exclaims, running into my bedroom with a paper in her hand while Emily carried in breakfast

"Show me" I smile and she climbs into my bed and sits right on top of me as she hands me the paper

"Oh baby I love this! Thank you!" I tell lily and move her hair out of her face and kiss her head

She had drawn a picture of her, Emily and I all holding hands, Emily's straight black hair drawn but with a smile on her face and she drew my hair up in a very high bun,

I loved it, I really did

"You like it?" Lily ask and I smile

"I like it so so much" I tell her and place it down on the end table and hold lily in my arms as Emily gets breakfast situated for us all

"Thank you" I tell Emily and she kisses my lips softly before sitting next to me and lily

They had made French toast, which is Lily's favorite breakfast, besides cereal of course

"She woke me up so early this morning wanting French toast," Emily says and Lily giggles as she bite into a piece French toast

I kissed her head again and the three of us continued to eat breakfast

Once breakfast was done I cleaned up Lily since she had gotten syrup everywhere as usual while Emily took care of dishes

"I don't understand how you get so sticky all the time!" I chuckle and lily shrugs

"It just happens" she tells me and I nod

"Right, for sure" I smile and we head out to Emily who was waiting for us in the living room and lily runs off to Emily

"Oh look at you! Way less sticky" Emily says, and picks her up

"Can we go to the park?" Lily ask

"Hmm I don't know" I say and lay on the couch and lily wiggles so Emily would put her down and she runs over and sits on me

"Please?" She ask and I smile. How can anyone say no to this face?

"We can go in a little once it warms up a little" I say and she smiles big and climbs off of me

"Yay!" She yells and runs to her room and Emily comes to sit with me

"She's got you wrapped around her little finger" she tells me and I roll my eyes

"Oh shut up, have you seen her? She knows she is cute" I say and Emily laughs

"Oh yea she does" Emily says and I move so I could sit in between her legs and she kissed my head

"Want to watch a movie?" Emily ask and I nod and let her pick a movie while I threw a blanket over us

As soon as the tv cut on lily came running out to us and comes to climb on the couch with us

"Are you sleepy?" I ask Lily as she cuddles into me

"No! It's early see? Wide awake" she smiles

"Right" I chuckle and kiss her head before helping Lily under the covers

I didn't even pay attention to the movie, I was watching the way Lilys face would change as her emotions did while watching until eventually her eyes began to flutter and she fell asleep

"Oh but she wasn't tired" I say and carefully move her so she could continue to seep and Emily and I could get up

Lily didn't sleep for long though unfortunately, she was awake and was begging us to go to the park now

"Go get some clothes on" Emily tells her and she smiles and runs to her room

"You wrapped around her little finger is more like it" I say and she rolls her eyes playfully and goes to help lily get ready

Once lily was dressed and Emily and I were, we left the house and headed to the park so she could play for a little

When we got there Emily and I played with her for a little, pushing her on the swings or chasing her around the equipment as she laughed the entire time

After a little Emily and I took a break and watched lily play with some of the other little kids that were playing

Lily got tired of running around half an hour later and come over to sit with us

"You ready to head home? We got to get ready for Rossi's soon" I ask and she nods

"I'm hot" she says and pulls her hat off

"It's just because you were running around"
I say and she nods and lifts her arms up to Emily

Emily easily picked her up and we left the park and headed to the car so we could go home

"Lily! Come on sweet girl, we're heading to Rossi's now" I call for her and she comes running out to us

"Is Jack going to be there?" She ask me

"I believe so," I tell her and she smiles happily as we head to the car

When we got to Rossi's lily was so excited to see everyone, I'm honestly very thankful that she had such an amazing relationship with our team

"We won't see her the rest of the night" Emily tells me and takes my hand

When we got inside lily was already laughing with Derek and we walked over to Penelope who was also watching them

"Are you guys excited for tomorrow?" She ask and we smile

We told the team about us wanting to adopt Lily, we're not close with our relatives so the team is our family

"Very, I'm so excited, and lily is ready for your day out tomorrow," I chuckle and she smiles

"Oh yay! We have an amazing day planned for her" Penelope says and smile and look to lily who was still laughing with Derek but Jack had joined them

Emily wrapped her arms around my waist and kissed my cheek

"Will you continue to foster? Or maybe have another baby?" Pen ask and I look up to Emily for permission before I said anything and she smiled

"Once everything is finalized we're taking a small break so we can celebrate with Lily then we will continue to foster like we were before so only short term. Then eventually in the next two years or so we're going try and have a baby" I say and she practically squeals

Emily and I had a lot of conversations about out next steps, and were very glad to have a baby in the near future

"I love you" Emily tells me and I smile

"I love you too"
