Chapter 27

Emily's POV

I talked with Lea and let's just say that didn't go over too well,

First she claimed that Danielle was lying, which I do understand the reaction because I was hesitant to at first. So now Lea is on her way over here and I have no idea how this is going to go with Danielle

She was already nervous about telling us, she didn't want us to tell Lea or anyone for that matter and I know she is going to be pissed when I tell her Lea is on her way

There's not much I can do at this point but wait so I put my phone on the table and walked back to my room where Danielle was just waking up

"Lea is on the way" I tell JJ and she nods and looks to Danielle before getting up and walking into the bathroom

"Hey sweet girl" I tell her and she sits up and rubs her eyes

"I'm sleepy" she tells me and I smile as I get my clothes out

"Im sure you'll wake up with some breakfast," I tell her and she nods

"So, I know you didn't want me to, but I had to. I called Lea and she is on the way here" I explain and Danielle just blinks

"What? Why would you do that!? I told you not to"  she yells and gets out of bed,

"Danielle. I didn't have a choice" I tell her calmly and she runs out our room and Into her own, slamming the door in the process

"That went well" JJ says coming out of the bathroom

"She's mad, she has a right to be" I explain  just as Lea knocked on the door

"I'll get it, get dressed" JJ says and kisses me on the way out of the room

I quickly threw on my clothes and met JJ and Lea in the kitchen

"Okay I need to know exactly what she told you." Lea says as soon as she sees me with one of her hands on her hip

"Like I told you on the phone, she told us last night that she had a baby, that is was a girl and that her old social worker took her away. She said no one else knows about it because he told her not to tell anyone" I explain and she nods

"It's not in her file, I've never heard that before. She didn't say anything to me at all," Lea says before continuing

"Where is she? I need to talk to her" she ask me

"She's in her room, I'll go get her" I say and she nods and starts a conversation with JJ while I left to get Danielle

I knocked on her door and when I got no response I just walked in

She was on her phone leaning against the wall while sitting on her bed

"I'm mad at you" she tells me and I nod

"I know, but Lea is here and you need to come talk with her" I explain and she shakes her head

"No! I don't want to!" she yells and Lea appears by my side

"Can I?" She ask me and I nod, I figured at this point Danielle would still listen to lea better than she would JJ or I

"Danielle, you need to apologize right now for yelling at Emily" Lea says sternly, I was going to tell her it was okay but the look she gave me made me not say anything

"Now Dani" Lea says after a moment and Danielle keeps her arms crossed

"Lea!" She whines and lea didn't respond but just gave her a look

"Fine! I'm sorry for yelling at you" she tells me and I smile

"Thank you... now can you pleases come sit with us?" I ask her and she looks to me and looks like she's about to cry, I knew she would be mad but I didn't think she'd be this upset

I left lea in the doorway and walked to Danielle's bed and crouched in front of her

"I promise you, I am not mad, JJ is not mad and neither is Lea. None of us are upset with you. I can also promise that while you're here with us, you're safe. Nothing is going to happen if you tell us the truth. We need know" I tell her softly and wipe the tears that had fallen out of her eyes

"Come on love" I say and stand up, I held my hand out for her and she took it, Lea smiled at me and went to the living room with JJ where Danielle and I met them

"Okay... so you're saying that you gave birth to a baby?" Lea ask Danielle and she nods and leaned into me

"Yea" she whispers

"Do you remember exactly when?" Lea ask

"Umm in March... the month before I turned 13" she says and lea nods that means the baby would be 17 months old now

"I became your social worker that April, just 3 days after your birthday... Danielle I think I would have noticed if you were a month post partum" Lea says and Danielle looks to me with a blank expression

"Can you find hospital records for her?" JJ ask her and lea sighs

"I can't find them, not from the local hospital anyway... I need to check surrounding ones" she says

"Now Dani... what we have to talk about next is not going to be easy... i just need you to be completely honest with me.... Who was it?" Lea ask and Danielle just hides her face into me

"Emily.... I wanna be done" she cries into my side and I rub her back

"I know... we're almost done and then we can go lay down" I tell her and she nods

"It... was my old foster brother, he came back to visit one night and was really nice to me.... But he came into the room when I was sleeping one time and he said he had a surprise but..... but he was mean, and it hurt so much...." She tells us, now crying a lot harder than she was just a few minutes ago

I easily pulled her small body into my lap

"Danielle.... I am very proud of you...thank you for telling me... I promise you that I'm going to do everything I can to make sure these people get held accountable" Lea says and Danielle just doesn't respond and just stays hiding against me

"Done" she whimpers and I look to lea who nods

"We're done." I tell her and push her hair behind her ears

"Take her to our room and I'll talk to Lea" JJ says and I nod and lead Danielle out of the living room and back the hallway

JJs POV

I know this whole thing is pretty hard for Danielle, I also know Emily was wanting to get her away from this discussion

"So what happens now?" I ask and lea sighs

"I make a bunch of phone calls and figure out what the hell is going on" she says and I nod

"We have a friend at the FBI that could help look for things" i tell her and she nods

"That's good.... I will call you guys when I find out any information"
