Dean called Ellen and informed her of what had happened to us "yeah, he almost killed the three of us because somebody over there can't keep their friggin' mouth shut." (...) "well, who else knows about Sam, huh?" He said looking over at Sam "I mean, you must have been talking to somebody." (...) "Gordon said he had Roadhouse connections, Ellen." (...) Dean said as he hung up the phone and angrily threw it on the seat next to him.

Sam had been fidgeting around for a while, calling another psychic he had met in Lafayette named Ava multiple times "hey, Ava, it's Sam. Again. Um, call me when you get this. Just want to make sure you got home okay. All right. Bye." Sam said, leaving another voice mail "everything all right?" Dean asked him "yeah, I hope so." Sam said "well, Gordon should be reaching for the soap for the next few years, at least." Dean said "yeah. If they pin Scott Carey's murder on him. And if he doesn't bust out." Sam said as Dean shook his head "dude, you ever take off like that again-." Dean said.

"What? You'll kill me?" Sam smiled "that is so not funny." Dean said "all right. All right. So, where to next then?" Sam asked "one word: Amsterdam." Dean smiled "Dean!" Sam yelled "come on, man, I hear the coffee shops don't even serve coffee." Dean said "I'm not just gonna ditch the job." Sam said "screw the job. Screw it, man. I'm sick of the job anyway. I mean, we don't get paid, we don't get thanked. The only thing we get's bad luck." Dean said "well, come on, dude, you're a hunter. I mean, it's what you were meant to do." Sam said "ah, I wasn't meant to do anything. I don't believe in that destiny crap." Dean said.

"You mean you don't believe in my destiny?"Sam asked him "yeah, whatever." Dean said "look, Dean, I've tried running before. I mean, I ran all the way to California, and look what happened. You can't run from this. And you can't protect me. You can't protect either of us." Sam said, nodding back to me as Dean looked at me and then Sam "I can try." Dean said "thanks for that." Sam said quietly as Dean nodded "look, Dean, I'm gonna keep hunting. I mean, whatever is coming, I'm taking it head-on. So, if you really want to watch my back, then I guess you're gonna have to stick around."'Sam said "bitch." Dean said "jerk." Sam smirked as he looked down at his phone and sighed, dialing a number.

"You calling that Ava girl again? You sweet on her or something?" Dean asked him "she's engaged, Dean." Sam said "so?" Dean asked him "what's the point in saving the world if you can't get a little nookie once in a while, huh?"
Sam said as he hung up his phone and scowled at him "what?" Dean asked "just a feeling. How far is it to Peoria?" Sam asked him.

[......]
When we got to Ava's, it was dark, and the front door was unlocked. We walked in, shining our flashlights through the house "hello? Is anybody home?" Sam called out.
At the end of a hallway, we walked into a room. A man was lying dead in a pool of his own blood on the bed "oh my god." Sam gasped as Dean quickly faced me away and walked me over to a window as he swiped his finger through a powdery substance that sat on the windowsill.

"Hey." Dean said as he turned and showed the powder to Sam "sulfur. Demon's been here." Dean said as Sam turned and spotted something on the floor. He knelt and picked up an engagement ring "Ava." Sam whispered.
