Pulling into Colorado National Forest we park the car before heading inside the park rangers office looking around I see different types of maps and pictures of animals "so, Blackwater Ridge is pretty remote. It's cut off by these canyons here....rough terrain, dense forest, abandoned silver and gold mines all over the place." Sam said as he examined a 3D model of the forest.

"Dude, check out the size of this friggin' bear."I said in amazement as they walked over towards me "wow, that's one huge ass bear." Dean said as he glanced at me "you kids aren't planning on going out near
Blackwater Ridge by any chance?" someone asked behind us loudly making us jump slightly at the noise.

"Oh, no, sir, we're environmental study majors from UC Boulder, just working on a paper...and this is our little sister." Sam said as he placed his hand on my shoulder "recycle, man." Dean enthusiastically said "bull. You're friends with that Haley girl, right?" The park ranger asked us "yes. Yes, we are. Ranger...Wilkinson." I said with a smile on my face.

"You tell that girl to quit worrying. I'm sure her brother's just fine." Ranger Wilkinson said "we will. Well, that Haley girl's quite a pistol, huh?" Dean asked him "that's putting it mildly." Ranger Wilkinson replied "actually, you know what would help is if I could show her a copy of that back-country permit. Ya know, so, she could see her brother's return date." Dean replied shrugging his shoulders at him.

Once we got the permit we head outside of the ranger's office and make our way back to the car "what, are you cruising for a hookup or something?" Sam asked him annoyed making me groan in frustration "what do you mean?" Dean questioned "the coordinates point to Blackwater Ridge, so what are we waiting for? Let's just go find dad. I mean, why even talk to this girl?" I asked him in frustration.

"I don't know, maybe we should know what we're walking into before we actually walk into it?" Dean replied as he shook his head "what?" I snapped at him "since when are you all shoot first, ask questions later, anyway?" Sam asked me as he chuckled at me "since now." I replied "oh, really?" He questioned.

Arriving at Haley's house Dean parks the car as he turns around to face me "alright, Addie. You're gonna have to stay-." Dean said before I cut him off "in the car I'm too young to pass for a park ranger, blah, blah, blah." I said looking up at him as he nodded at me before they got out of the car heading inside her house as I sit in the backseat bored out of my mind until finally they come back out opening the doors and hopping inside the car before taking off.

Shortly after leaving Haley's house we head over to a local bar sitting in the very back where it's a little less crowded and where we can hear each other better "so, Blackwater Ridge doesn't get a lot of traffic. Local campers, mostly. But still, this past April, two hikers went missing out there. They were never found." I said looking up at them as I read bits of our dad's journal to them.

"Any before that?" Dean asked "yeah, in 1982, eight different people all vanished in the same year. Authorities said it was a grizzly attack. And again in 1959 and again before that in 1936. Every 23 years, just like clockwork. Okay. Watch this. Here's the clincher. I downloaded that guy Tommy's video to the laptop. Check this out." Sam said showing us the video "do it again?" Dean asked him as he showed it to us one more time.

"That's three frames. That's a fraction of a second. Whatever this thing is, it can move." Sam replied as he turned to look at us "told you something weird was going on." Dean said lightly smacking Sam in the chest making me chuckle at them "yeah, I got one more thing. In '59, one camper survived this supposed grizzly attack. Just a kid. Barely crawled out of the woods alive." Sam said as he turned to look at us "so, Sammy, does this guy have a name?" I asked him.

[.....]
"Look, Ranger I don't know why you're asking me about this. It's public record. I was a kid. My parents got mauled by a-." The man said before I cut him off "grizzly. That's what attacked them?" I asked him making him stop in his tracks as he nodded at me "the other people that went missing that year, those bear attacks too? What about all those people that went missing this year, same thing?" Dean asked him.

"If we knew what we're dealing with maybe we could stop it." I mumbled looking up at him "I seriously doubt that. Anyways, I don't see what difference it would make. You wouldn't believe me. Nobody ever did." The man replied as he turned around to look at us before sitting down "Mr. Shaw, what did you see?" Sam asked him as he sat on the bed in front of him "nothing. It moved too fast to see. It hide to well, I heard it though. A roar, like no man or animal I've ever heard." Mr. Shaw said.

"It came at night? Got inside your tent." Sam said "it got inside our cabin. I was sleeping in front of the fireplace when it came in. It didn't smash a window or break the door, it unlocked it. Do you know of a bear that can do something like that? I didn't even wake up until I heard my parents screaming." Mr. Shaw replied "it killed them?" Sam asked him "dragged them off into the night. Why it left me alive? I've been asking myself that ever since. Did leave me this though. There's something evil in those woods. It was some sort of a demon." Mr. Shaw said.

[.....]
"Spirits and demons don't have to unlock doors If they want inside, they just go through the walls." I said turning around to look at them "so, it's probably something else...something, corporeal." Sam said making me and Dean look at him in confusion "corporeal? Excuse me, professor." Dean sarcastically replied "shut up. So, what do you think?" Sam asked us.

"The claws, the speed that it moves...could be a skinwalker, maybe a black dog whatever we're talking about we're talking about a creature and it's corporeal. Which means we can kill it." Dean said.
