Sitting in the middle of the room in a very empty room waiting for what felt like hours as I look up at the sound of the door opening seeing a woman walking up to me "I'm Agent Ballard. Thought you might be thirsty." She said setting down a glass of water in front of me "no, thanks. Where's my brother?" I asked her "which one? We have both Sam and Dean." She said "what? Why? Why are we even here?" I asked "Dean is being held on suspicion of murder. And Sam. We'll see." She said "murder?! What are you talking about?" I asked her.
"You're as good of an actor as Sam. You both seemed genuinely surprised. Bravo." She laughed "who did Dean supposedly murder?" I asked "Tony and Karen Giles." She said "Karen's dead?" I asked her "we'll get around to that. First, I want to find out how much you know." She said "well, ask away. Doesn't mean I'm going to give you any answers." I said "I know all about you and your family. You're sixteen-years-old, no home address because your family moves around a lot. Your mother and father's whereabouts are unknown. Your brother, Sam, is twenty-three-years-old. No job and no home address. Previously attended Stanford, but dropped out after the death of his girlfriend, Jessica Moore. And then there's the case of your brother Dean. Whose demise was, well, just a little bit exaggerated." She said as she looked up at me.
As I crossed my arms and sat back in my seat "what?" I asked her "how's this little road trip with your brother's going?" She asked me "we saw the second-largest ball of twine in the US." I replied "they've got you trained. Sam said the same exact thing." She laughed "that's 'cause it's true." I said "how about this? We ran Dean's fingerprints through AFIS. Do you know what that is?" She asked me "Automated Fingerprint Identification System. Do you know what it is?" I sarcastically asked her "smart girl. Not really enjoying the attitude, but smart girl." She laughed.
"What did you get?" I asked her "got over a dozen possible hits." She said "that literally means you have nothing." I laughed "but it makes you wonder what we are gonna find when we run Sam's prints." She said "not really." I shrugged
"Addison, you seem like a good kid. It's not your fault. Sam and Dean are your brothers. We can't pick our family." She said with a smile on her face as I rolled my eyes "right now, detectives in St. Louis are exhuming a corpse. They're trying to figure out how your brother faked his own death after torturing all those young women. Dean's a bad guy. His life is over. And if we find out Sam was.....involved his will be too. Yours doesn't have to be." She said."What do you want me to do? Turn on them?" I asked her "we already caught Dean cold. Red-handed at the Karen Giles murder scene. We just need you to fill in some missing pieces, see if Sam is telling the truth." She said "I'm done talking." I said "well, I'll send in child protective services. Hopefully, they will be able to find any living relatives you might have. I don't want another kid in the system." She said "what are you talking about?" I asked her "where do you think you're going to end up if your brothers get convicted?" She asked me "so, what? I don't give you what you want, and you ship me off?" I asked her "if you won't talk, there is nothing more I can do with you." She said as she turned to leave.
"Wait, wait. What do you want to know?" I asked her "anything you can tell me." She said as she stood in front of me "our dad and Tony were friends. As soon as we heard about his death, we came to town, but we definitely weren't anywhere near here when Tony died. Which means there is no way it could've been Dean." I said looking up at her "your stories are lining up. Let's see how the rest goes." She said as I felt the weight lift off of my shoulders once I realized that I didn't totally blow our cover. I just needed to stick to the basics, no details.
"Okay, we went to see Karen. We just wanted to see her, make sure she knew she wasn't alone. Then we parted ways, and now we're here." I said "Addison, I'm trying to help you here. But you have got to be honest with me. We have an eyewitness. Someone who saw two men and a child breaking into Giles' office." She said "Karen called us after we left. She wanted some stuff from Tony's office. We knew we shouldn't be at a crime scene, but she was desperate. We just wanted to help." I replied "what happened next?" Ballard asked.
