I raced Tash up the many flights of fire stairs. As expected she was much faster than me and with both of us having competitive spirits, we would do anything to beat the other. But still it was a friendly competition. Dean'd warned me about Tash, even though they were both quite close and good friends. We'd commonly called Dean Sherlock  because of his amazing observations, so when he spoke to me about Tash I couldn't help but trust him. His reasons were reasonable and simple telling me one thing that WASN'T simple. Tash had completely lost it. It was hard to believe, because honestly she'd always been really high and a bit off like the rest of us, so I didn't notice much of a difference. Plus to be able to hold such a perfect image, fooling us... Well at least me, is pretty amazing.

"Woman!"I swore as I bumped straight into her as she purposely stopped to throw me off, before quickly running away again.

"My gosh! Tash! I swear!"I shouted after her as her giggles echoed against the cold walls.

Soon enough we'd reached the top, where the stairs wouldn't go any further without a key of some sought. I sighed, I bet everyone else was having this problem. I re thought it out, we should probably just re group, find the keys and either stay together or go split up again and find the locked enterances, obviously taking a copy with us. As I thought it out, I was completely oblivious of how un usually quiet Tash was being. It was too late, by the time I turned around, she'd already started to swing her metal bat into my skull. I immediately ducked down, bracing my self, the bat going straight into my forearm. That's definitely going to swell it hurt like hell but I pushed away the pain and focused on the problem before me.

"Shit, Tash!"I swore, quickly catching the bat in-between my glades, as she swung towards me again.

Her slightly wavy hair covered her eyes, but exposed the sadistic smile that her lips curled into.

"Hey, Tash! Snap out of it!"I shouted, as I ducked past her head, attempting to click in her face.

"What? Is there something wrong, Ace?"she slurred with a riculous smile printed on her face.

"Your... Dad. Gender equality."I stated simply, trying to stay calm.

Hiding the fear and panic in a box in my chest.

"How's your mum?"she asked casually.

Even though She used to ask it ALL the time, this time she almost seemed to have a sharp edge to it..

"I dunno. Probably beating the shit out of shit with shit...?"I suggested.

I had a dreading feeling that she was a goner... But I still had a lot of faith in her, thinking maybe there was a chance that she was out there, alive.

"Are sure she isn't DEAD?"Tash laughed, distracted I took a blow to my shoulder, surely breaking it.

Shit I was one arm down, plus it hurt like f*ck. Now my streak of NEVER breaking a bone in my life just went out the window.

"F*ck."I swore, crumbling to the ground, grabbing my broken shoulder.

My vision started to go or foggy as tears flooded in. I was definitely not use to this pain. I could usually take a lot of wound pain, cuts, stabs but DEFINATELY not breaks.

"Killing you is nothing. Nothing compared to the amount of people I've killed... You've killed. It's the same. What's the difference from killing you or an Infected? You're still killing a person."she placed her foot on my back, pressing down a little.

I guess I knew that, knew it all along but denied it, telling myself that they weren't human anymore. That they were nothing, just like in a video game. Making it easier for me to keep my sanity and to I guess 'kill'. And now I was fighting a friend. A deadly one.

Urgh the world is so messed up.

"So why don't I just kill you right now? Or you kill me? It's the Last man standing."she laughed, but the words passed through my mind, hardly making any sense.

Until she started to get seriously serious. With that stupid smile still plastered on her face, we continued to fight, her swings and hits getting stronger each time. Soon enough my deflects started to get weaker and I took a hit to the face. I stumbled back, as she stepped forward swigging her knee straight into my stomach. The wind was immediately hit out of me, making me pause to catch my breath, but Tash tool this to her advantage, tackling me to the ground, clawing at my throat. I clenched my teeth as I kicked her off me, jumping up and heading straight back down the stairs to the next exit. But as soon as my fingers touched the cold metal I was thrown onto the wall, followed by another strong punch.

<Shit, my face is literally going to look like shit after this>

"Shit Tash! Get your shit together!"I swore grabbing her arm with my singular usable arm.

"I do have my 'shit' together. I'm just being particle."she laughed, laying another punch on my face.

She broke out of grasp, wrapping her hands around my throat, throwing me against the wall. I struggled to breath underneath her death grip, trying to desperately get her off. Finally it clicked to me, I used my spare hand to slide down the door pulling down the cold metal handle. The door immediately swung open, shocked, her guard dropped as I grabbed her shoulders throwing her down to the floor, as I jumped on top of her. The constant stabbing pain in my shoulder made it impossible for me to use my whole arm, so with my fore arm I held her down, my knees on her hips holding her down. Tash brought her arms towards me clawing at the air, trying to reach my face. Pressing harder into her neck, I was sure I'd cut off her air. I guess all the intensity of everything made it so I blocked out every other sound or movement, 'cause next thing I knew, I felt someone swing like a plank or something into the side of my head, taking me straight off her. I fell straight on to my side, grabbing my blood head, before I was taken back down by Tash again. She swung her bat over her head, getting ready to plunge it into my skull, when I quickly grabbed hold of my hedge cutters from my belt again, catching it in-between my blades. I was already a hedge cutter short, since I'd left it back on the fire stairs when we first started the fight. That's when I realized we were at someone's feet, only then did I actually try to comprehend what was happening around me. Her hands tried to wrap themselves around my throat as I immediately bit down on them keeping them away.

"Shit...?"I heard Katrissa and Echo's voice above us.

I assumed they thought I was infected and now their completely confused.

"Katrissa, just get them apart!"Echo suddenly shouted as I immediately felt Katrissa's arms thread under mine, holding back in a head lock.

"I'll f*cking beat your ass!"Tash hissed angrily at me as Echo held her back in he same head lock.

"I'll shove these blades up your ass and literally scissor you!" I snapped back.

I noticed Echo found this quite funny and tried to hold back a laugh.

"Shit guys, neither of us are infected, but f*cking Tash has lost it."I swore at them attempting to explain ourselves.

"What the f*ck Ace? You lie a lot but don't think they're fallin' for a lie like that."Tash snapped back before turning to Katrissa and Echo who both seemed very unsure on what to do.

"Dudes, don't listen to her, I know you would trust her more than me, but in this situation you've got to beli-"

"BULLSHIT! Tash I swear! I'll burn you alive!"I shouted angrily, starting to fight against Katrissa's arms.

Who did she think she was to fool my friends and act all innocent and sane again?

"What, like all the other people you've killed?"she smirked back fighting against Echo as well.

I gritted my teeth as I seriously felt like smashing her skull in, not noticing Echo and Katrissa Sending each other signals. And before I knew it, my mouth was forcefully covered, sending a sleepy shock throughout my body and head. I blacked out.
